Must be about the lowest price ever for a Miele washing machine £599 with a free 5 year warranty. Next cheapest online price I can see is £749 so around a £150 saving.

I bought a Miele washing machine this year, the best machine I have ever owned.

At this price it almost looks like a mis-price.

I've just noticed Curry's are also matching this price online £599 - maybe a Black Friday inspired offer. Next cheapest is AO.com (renamed appliances online) at £660.

The Rolls Royce of washing machines.

It's probably JL price matching Currys.

better to go with Currys for the cashback? Both incude 5yr Guarantee.

Says 749?

Black Friday promo is over.

Damn damn damn just paid not much less for a mid-ranged Bosch.

JL showing 749 now - but Currrys is still 599 so worth a JL price match if you prefer them (the warranty is from MielE). AO.com is next lowest at 660 but no price match with internet only stores.

Bought a Miele w/mc several years ago for about £500 - never had a problem with it at all and still going strong, unlike other machines I have bought. I wouldn't buy any other brand in the future.
Stonking deal

I was informed by our repair man that they share common components - pumps etc with everyone Hoover, Indesit.

Samsung offer the same warranty and quality for about £400. Look better too.

My bottom of the range Bosch machine has done 10 years without a single problem.
Probably averaging about 6 washes a week now.
Am not sure it's necessary to pay any more.

He's quite right. Many components are the same.

You could buy four cheap washing machines for this price, at least one of which will inevitably last just as long and work just as well as this.

I have this machines predecessor and I've had no problems in six years. I've repaired a friends machine, an indesit bought around the same time. I traced the fault to a blown triac motor control, removing it from the heatsink, there was NO evidence of heatsink paste used at all.
So, it might be the same £2 triac used in both machines, but there is a quality issue with the assembly: £0.02 of paste is skimped.
Other things you get with the Miele is an enamelled front as opposed to painted. The older ones used to be all enamelled. The balance weight is cast iron as opposed to concrete, giving a more stable spin (denser).
You also say that you can get several machines for the cost, you do not mention the premium that reliability is worth, convenience of a reliable machine.
A five year guarantee is not really necessary but if you want a quality machine but don't want to go crazy, then this is a good step up from the rest.

For what it's worth, personal experience didn't live up to their reputation. The machine developed a CPU fault after 5 years and 4 months (5 year warranty). The quote for repair was £250 so gave up and went elsewhere. The impressively solid construction wasn't much use when it stopped working as a washing machine. Several other manufacturers offer similar warranty for models with better price/feature points in my view or pot luck with a budget machine could be as effective.

I await a call from JL to confirm they will price match. Will post result

Unfortunately Miele washing machines dont offer the "self denonating drum option" as standard, compared with far cheaper units out there - whose machines explode potentially injuring young children / potentially compromising the safety of your property.
The manufacturers failing to do product recalls on the faulty units because they care about profit v customer safety

Cheap appliances can and do come at a cost.
