Wow that's an expensive washing machine, you could buy 4 or 5 new ones with warrantys to cover the 10 years, have you got a trophy wife ?

Please find me a cheaper machine, the point is that it is a good deal. NOT whether or not you find it over priced or not.

Samsungs are less than 1/2 this price with a 5 year warranty. I'd rather buy two of them over 10 years.

I never said overpriced, I said expensive, but as ktm666 says may as well get a cheaper one on a 5 year and buy a new one if it breaks after 5 years

Money off something doesn't make something a good deal if it is over priced in the first place .

That is your prerogative if you would like to buy a samsung. This is Hot UK Deals, and there seems to be an on going issue where people vote an item cold or slate something just because THEY think its over priced. Not looking at if its a good price for that particular item, Apple products get slated in the same way constantly. However when its a TV reduced down to say £1000 it doesn't get the same treatment. I personally wouldn't pay £1000 on a TV but wouldn't vote it cold just because I think its too much.

I voted cold because I don't think it's a good deal, which is what the purpose of voting is all about.
As I said which the samsungs, in respect of this washing machine, the better deal is to buy two samsungs, not a single machine and expect it to last 10 years like triggers brush.
I do think £1000 for a washing machine is ridiculous, especially as the spec is average. My voting is based on other product combinations out there. Just because it's 10% off doesn't make it a good deal.
After all, Chlamydia is free, but I wouldn't want that.

In general Miele make the best washing machines, its far from an average machine. I am speaking from experience having owned Miele washing machines

I said the spec is average, not the quality. I realise that Miele make very good machines, as does Bosch, but that's not my point.

i think you will find with most machines it is 5 years parts only and the labour will cost you 120.00 or so not voting either way personally

You can't get any better than an LG washer and they're around £500 cheaper than this, lol

Miele are different class to samsung.

And LG for that matter.

Miele are without any shadow of the imagination the best washing machines out there, for every 5 or 6 Hotpoint/Samsung/lg you've bought this will still be performing the same as the day you bought it.

It has a 10 year warranty but they design them for a minimum use of 25 years, try the 50p test, take a 50p and rub it on the washer and it won't scratch. Wonder how many of those LG (most unreliable brand in electronics) machines will still be going in 25 years? Other than the direct drive mechanism nothing else is particularly good quality on them.

Anyone who knows about washing machines will tell you that specs are irrelevant! It's the quality of the wash and nothing surpasses these, when you see how stable they are in operation it's quite un-natural. Wouldn't be surprised if you could happily have a game of Jenga whilst the machine is on full chat!

Miele products are expensive for a reason and agree to the above. We have a Miele washing machine and the build along with wash quality is second to none! Buy one with confidence if able to afford.

Please go on the Miele website and see what the 10 year warranty includes. At the moment this model has a free 10 year warranty.

My parents ASKO (Swedish) washing machine finally bit the dust this week after 27 years hard use, brilliant machines but sadly no longer imported to the UK. They were always a bit cheaper than Miele but equally if not more reliable. Now the only choice is Miele.

i think my missus would prefer a new handbag in the run up to xmas, than a washing machine for the money..
I'll ask her when she gets home

Lol I love this site.....it is a good price for the machine, have some heat. If you can't afford it then buy a cheaper machine that has also been reduced, everyone's a winner. I personally have one of these and you know what it's the nuts, nice and quiet, and it will probably out live me if I keep laughing so hard.....

Now £1349 at JL and at least 1199 everywhere else:(
was a hot deal...

miele are a better brand of washing machine they have stood the test of time
they guarantee for 20 years of normal use of 5 times a week, however, give a 10 year warranty on repair.
i bought a samsung 12kg ecobubble and its a good wash performance, but the machine is tacky and cheap plastic, i doubt it will last 5 years.
on the subject of freebies.. thrush is free.. we all have it! but does that mean we want it or have to have it!!
