Admittedly a niche product, but also not something I was expecting to find in the Tesco toy sale - hence my reason for listing it rather than just highlighting it in a Tesco discount thread.

It would be, but I've spent about 10 years trying to get around to building my own!

'No assembly - just plug in & play'

For £629.99 I should bloody well hope so.

In case anyone was actually interested in buying, check this review on amazon before:

I aquired one of these from ebay - Fortunately a lot cheaper than this and suprise-suprise it didnt work properly. So I rang up the supplier who wanted to charge £180 to replace the game board. So I took it to pieces to see if I could do it myself. Inside there was a small black sealed box. I broke it open and all it contains is a PSU and one of those 150-in-1 handheld game units you can buy for £15. The screen is a 14" colour TV/Monitor. Not exactly worth the money then.

About £600 too much

Sorry but thats a rip, you can buy actual cabinets and boards for cheaper.

I think unless you're a purist you'll get just as much enjoyment using mame / hyperspin on a regular PC & TV setup with a couple of arcade controllers.

I'm hoping one day I'll be able to dedicate some time and money into a Hyperpin Pinball setup

Either it washes the dishes and cooks the tea aswell as playing these games, or knock 600 quid off, lol

Yeah, that's what I'd go with too.

1x CRT TV (people tend to throw them away so no need to spend money)
1x Arcade Stick (£25-30 or more)
1x PC Tower/PSTV/RasPi (an old Dell tower would do fine or a Ras Pi, a PSTV would be the most expensive choice)

And then build the rest or buy it already done.

id rather buy a genuine street fighter arcade cabinet than this junk

Yeah CRT will do nicely, especially if you're going to get a lightgun. I'm having to build a custom size IR bar for mine because it doesn't suit TV's. I would have recommended the Welcom-WE6200 for an arcade stick but they have gone up X4 in price since I bought mine. There does seem to be better options in the UK now though

I'll be starting my raspberry pi build soon. Already got the pi running retropi just gonna buy a flat pack bar top cabinet from arcade world. Think in total I'll be spending 300-400 quid. It's really worth looking into building your own check out youtube

Omg oO

Absolute garbage. Had lots of arcade machines over the years (real ones not whatever this is) and never paid more than 300.

Go to jammaplus or ukvac rather than get ripped off with these cowboys trying to screw over everyone for profit.

Youre right. And for the size of cabinet they couldve easily fitted a bigger screen rather than have a massive bezel.

That's disgusting... Definitely not worth the money and the fact they wanna charge £150 for repairs on it is even worse!

Brrrrr....

Build you own guys, it's not that hard and you'll get far more enjoyment.

Huge and helpful community to aid and support.

Just download mame to play theses old games, all the original ROMs are on the Internet also

I wish I had the technical skill (and money) to build something like TerryRed's PinKadia!.
For the time being I'll make do with Pinball FX VR

I doubt anybody here will jump on this. However, I saw one of these opened on YouTube, and it's basically a very small cabinet, a small 13" screen and one of those £10 Megajoy controllers (containing NES ROMS), sealed into a box, connected to cheap joysticks.

Tesco should be ashamed selling this utter tat.

Grab a £5 CRT, and the 2nd hand machines of your choice for some pure nostalgia. I bought a ZX Spectrum for £15 from Gumtree which had around 40 games, love it, might invest in a flash drive soon.

Wonder if they do C&C, considering I don't want to pay £3 for 7-10 days delivery and it'll take me about 5 days to carry it home

I think it's the time investment that's the killer for most projects. Had a look on Ebay the other day and saw a few unfinished projects - shame really as one of them literally just needed wiring, tech and artwork. Then there's some where you can tell they can't wait so they build a cab with a TV in it, no bezel and have a couple of X360 wired pads sticking out X)

For the money it's almost a crime. I'd expect at least a Jamma in there for over £600.
How long ago did you buy your ZX? I sold my retro collection in the late 2000's which I thought was going to be the peak, but it's nothing compared to the selling prices currently. So much fun at the time collecting though. I bought a SNES with immaculate boxed games such as Yoshi's Island for £20, and Streets of Rage 3 at a car boot sale for £1, which later turned around for £50

It's a depressing thought of how much games are now even without boxes

This man knows what he's talking about. The genuine article can be a lot cheaper than you think.

Ha - Love all these comments - Just build your own!!! Not everyone can build an arcade machine! If I tried it would look absolutely ridiculous!

two systems based on raspberry pi

really helpful post. now looking for my former kodi used pi2 to convert as an Xmas project.

And fair play to this guy who thought it was perfectly acceptable to shove a Sega Rally cab in his living room

With the standard "Mrs says it needs to go or she will" X)

Cold. This arcade unit looks terrible and has some real rubbish games. Go to chilli arcade (on facebook) I've purchased a personalised arcade machine with own graphics, decent neon joysticks and buttons. Plus with every emulator and arcade game you could think of.

There is a guy local to me and I'm sure one near everyone else, he build custom cabinets, with your choice of arcade or console games, very high quality all custom art or replica of 70's, 80's machines I'm sure his top end machines are about £400.00

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand this total rip off got "hot" X)

For that money I would rather build a PC gaming rig and (being specific to the arcade games) stick a ton of arcade game roms on it, with the added benefit of it doing multitasking with the OS (internet, movies, music etc etc) plus being able to for that price play the latest games.

You could download the plans & have a local merchant laser cut the pieces from Mdf, a printer print the decals in vinyl, get a light made & buy all the components for half the price & it'd be able to play well more & have proper at are controls & a better screen.

All you'd need to do is connect the thing together & assemble it.

Personally I play more retro console games so it makes more sense for me to just upgrade my raspberrypi 1st gen setup to a more modern one & add wireless controllers, plus if I put an arcade machine in the games room it'd mean there be no cue room for the pool table though (I know, first world problems), but if you're into the arcade experience then seriously, build your own, even if you have to outsource the bits you can't do yourself.

Nothing wrong with a Sega Rally in the lounge. But "I can't be bothered to see if it still works as the courier lost the power cable" is a massively lying or stupid seller.

complete rip off. looks terrible, games list is terrible. £10 game console and a £50 TV in a wooden box!

You all say rip off I say I bloody with I was making these

This looks like an awful machine. My friend has built 3 machines himself by getting copies of plans, graphics and quality parts. They are basically flat pack builds that he then applies the graphics to, builds the controller panel using sanwa parts and uses some multi card boards. He has trackerball and joystick builds and they look amazing.
I don't think they are 'easy' to do, but with some knowledge and attention to detail they can look amazing, and are much cheaper than this one. You can also buy replacement boards from forums/ebay etc. I'm just waiting until he has some time and if I'm a good boy I'm hoping he'll build me one

That's a ridiculous price. It's faster and cheaper to make one. Or pay me to make one.
