Cool - but what is a 'pod'

Can't make out from the photo what it is supposed to be !

lol .. i dont know either AlanB :giggle:

Its the base unit, the mouse plugs into (see picture).

I'm guessing the unit comes with the base (pod), the mouse and the USB receiver (the small rectangle thing next to the mouse in the picture). Most base's re-charge the mouse using the USB port... this one seems to use 2xAAA batteries. Doesnt that defeat the purpose of the "re-chargeable" bit! May as well just put 2xAAA batteries directly into the mouse??? Maybe I've got it wrong.

Thank you Oh knowlegable sin of nature http://bestsmileys.com/bowing/2.gif .. feel a bit dopey now. I thought it was the stick thing at the back of the base unit :giggle:

Hi sin_of_nature, I guess you are right, the 'pod' is the base unit, but the little oblong bit which has a home in the back of the pod doesn't appear to have a USB plug sticking out of it, so I didn't think it could be a receiver.

Will be a very strange device if it needs nornal AAA batteries to 'charge' the mouse, rather than power from the USB port.

Maybe someone will buy one and let us know

Must admit, thats what puzzles me??? Are the batteries rechargeable and simply go into the mouse? The base then simply charges the batteries inside the mouse? See what you mean about the small rectangle thingie not having USB wire. A mystery indeed!

I had one of those remote control desktop cars. You put the batteries in the base, and the car got charged from the base. Terrible idea, hope its not the same as that.

Puzzling indeed I think the batteries must be rechargeable though ..

Those work using a capacitor in the car. The capacitor stores power from the batteries and then slowly releases (the capacitor discharges) it when you turn the car on.
