Great price for a legendary, almost peerless jazz record. I've no idea what the quality of this particular pressing is like though. Rightly or wrongly, I'm generally a bit wary of coloured vinyl. (edited)
I'm sure its great and all that but those trumpets just made my ears bleed!

DOL reissue so I will avoid like the plague as their source isn’t the original master. If you can listen to the CBS CD remaster from 1997 then you’ll hear how bad this is. The drums on my DOL copy sounded like it was raining outside. I think DOL recorded it from a cassette tape and all I know it sounded awful. I paid the extra and bought the Columbia vinyl reissue.

Fortunately the CD is only £3.99 at Amazon. Apparently this is from the original master even so the sound is not great. (some say) Are you serious about cassette tape? In the eary days there was no noise reduction at all, no better quality tapes. No wonder it sounded awful (edited)
