My son goes mad for these but they are such cr*p. 10 mins of digging at a block made of chalk which ends up all over the floor, and all you get is some plastic tat which goes in the bin a week later.

From other reviews, I think these do contain real semiprecious stones of the kind advertised. There's no reason for them not to - they're not valuable or expensive.
We had some of these, they are pretty poor. 2 blocks of something inside,of no interest to the kids though.
I didn't buy them expecting to get gold or diamonds, 1 in 25 , but the 'rock' cube could have been more exciting, maybe a gem shape or something.
Worst part is it's made of sand and it's not easy to break, but makes a tonne of mess.
