As part of the 10th anniversary celebration of Minecraft, the developers have released a free anniversary map for the game Minecraft that provides you with a theme park for free exploration.

Highlights of the map/theme park include
  • The Mob Garden
  • The Redstone Contraption and
  • Many small Easter eggs.

How To Get The Map
To get the map on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Windows 10, iOS and Android, just go to the Minecraft Marketplace and download it at no extra cost. For Minecraft Java you can download the map directly on the get deal page (scroll down to see the big button).

Hope it helps someone.

I miss this game, might try it out again.

Used to host a huge server. I learnt a lot about owning and having responsibility for something at the age of 16.

It was amazing being flooded in messages, having a forum, and hiring staff. Almost felt like a business.

Learnt tons of IT related stuff. Such as DDoS protection, domain name servers, web servers, specifications, and simple things like commands.

On top of that, I even started looking at Java code in plugins and decompiling them just to see how it works. I started editing them without any programming experience and asking developers if I was allowed to remake them for my server. I then released some of my own ones on Bukkit and they have thousands of downloads.

Moral of the story is that this game teaches you a LOT. I'm 21 and when people ask why I played it or try laugh, this shuts them up straight away. All they got was pocket money and homework at the age of 16.

Its helped me with my degree still to this day.

I can't find it on the xbox one. Tried searching for 10 years of minecraft with no success.

Looked at the add ons for minecraft. It's not there either. Can anyone help?

Thanks

I'm too old to have had that experience so it's good to hear something positive about it. Based on this I'll be sure to encourage my future kids to play.

Didn't expect my comment to blow with likes, but I guess it's something motivating .

And definitely, I even got donations every month. £200 a month easy.

Of course I was young so I did spend some money on little things I really wanted that parents wouldn't get me or said was too expensive. But I did put a lot into advertisement and software developers. Forgot to mention, I even learnt Java from it because I started to make plugins for my own server and release them on the website called Bukkit. They have thousands of downloads.
Downloaded it. Pretty nice map and it takes me back to when I played minecraft shortly after it was originally released.
