Communicate with other Bluetooth devices
- Now upgraded to full speed USB 2.0 interface

i have this bluetooth dongle and never had any problems with it and what do u expect for £2.47!

Pros: - Works out of the box on Linux. On my Ubuntu, I didn't need to do anything. Just connected it and it was already showing in the tray.
- Lets you connect to any bluetooth enabled device (cellphones, palmtops, and so on).

Cons: I can't think of any con. Maybe there are some other bluetooth dongles that might serve you better if you want it smaller (like http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.11866) or if you need a better range (http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.8887), although they aren't as cheap as this one.

Other Thoughts:

Bottomline: If you just seek bluetooth connectivity for you computer / laptop, this is for you

Paypal's loss then :-D

damn it... just looked at the image and thought this was a USB memory stick

been waiting ages for a cheap one to come along... no matter what size... but no joy

interesting.... needed one of these.... thanks

I have this one myself and it's reasonable. Using the bluesoleil drivers it even allows you to connect your Wiimote to your PC.

Okay for doing object pushes etc. Never been able to get it to work for voice on my vista machine, but there is a solution out there for it - although I've never got off my bum to implement it.

Voted hot.

Using the newest Buesoleil 6.0 in Vista?
I use it all the time!

Check that mute is not on, as it comes on by default with most Bluetooth devices I have used :-(

Wow.. thanks very much...

Still a good price though... voted hot!

The last bluetooth dongle I got from DX came with a ripped copy of Bluesoleil. It looked legit but the version number didn't match anything Bluesoleil provided. It was ok, until I lost the disk. None of the Bluesoleil drivers recognised the device. Also the casing fell apart after a few weeks. It still works well in ubuntu however!

i got one of these a while ago, works an absolute treat

Sorry but cold from me, I'm fed up with this cheap dongles which refuse to work on the microsoft and widcomm stacks, requireing BlueSoiel and just recently I had one which would loose its connection to keyboard and mouse whenever system restarted...

Could I connect a bluetooth headset with this, my BT dongle v1.1 doesn't work.

I have never had a problem and have only ever used/seen others use cheap bluetooth dongles! Agreed that former versions don't work with Vista, but apart from that, I can't imagine what problem it could be since versions 5 and particulalry 6 which is less picky.

Bluesoleil works now with just about everything, Widcomm is quirky anyway, so much prefer not to use it.

I can - I suspect it would have to have Bluetooth connectivity in the first place, and that's not that common!

No!

Precisely what I thought you might mean - there is a printer I have seen (can't remember what model) that has bluetooth connectivity like this, with a dongle you connect to the printer itself, but an ordinary dongle won't turn an ordinary USB printer into a Bluetooth one!
