Always useful, and at that price....

Why can't they make WI-fi cards this small, then I would be happy to upgrade to N

Ordered one. H&R added!

Thanks, was surfing DE recently looking for this one but couldnt find it. The curved edge is much better than the sharp edged one if you want to leave it plugged in all the time.

I bought one of these ... Great little things

TIP: You must use the Blue Soleil software that comes with it. The native windows Bluetooth stack is worthless. Blue Soleil is leaps and bounds better. I couldn't find the Broadcomm stack, but this does the trick just fine.

Excellent price, I remember seeing these for £11 in a local shop in Manchester - even at that price they were flying out. A mate of mine has one and has no problems. Voted hot

sweet

I have one of these which I use to connect my PC to my Home Cinema and I am very happy with it although it is only working over 5m.

Cause they won't be long range then.
A bluetooth dongle of that size will only have 5 metres at max of range, and flaky reception at edge of the range.
I can bet with my life that there is no way the dongle have 100 metres range as advertised. Bluetooth protocol itself is designed and optimised for short range communication.

I wonder if this supports 64-bit Vista...

One for me. just ordered!

Recently had ordered a brand new laptop where the spec said it had bluetooth but it didnot. Didnot want to loose my laptop just for lack of bluetooth and after raising a request i been given a voucher of 30GBP from buyer. and i spend just a fraction of it to enable it with bluetooth..so hot for me. heat and rep added.
thanks for posting!!!!!!!!!!!!

Banned

got on of these, they are the bees knees!!

THANKS HAVE ORDERED 3

I've plugged one in to my PC and Vista 64 doesn't recognise it. I've no idea where the driver disk is as I was originally using it with an eeePC so didn't need it

Try running Windows Update with it installed. I know Vista already goes online, if you allow it, to look for a driver but after that's failed for me in the past doing a Windows Update has found drivers.

i bought one of these last summer and its works perfect with the windows bluetooth stack. the range goes anywhere in the house no problem at all. i've always found the blue sloeil software absolute pants! :prop:

Would this work with Ubuntu Linux ??

I'm sure this has been posted on here a bunch of times :P

I have one myself and it is great value for money. Personally though (if I was to buy another) i'd go for the slightly more expensive one with the square edges as it is quite a bit smaller:

 It's all good, ordered 2.

If you plan on buying 5 or more use ]this code for £2 off.

I have had a few of these last couple have said blue soleil running in evaluation mode and can only transfer up to 5mb.Do you have to buy the full version.

Whats windows bluetooth stack??? Is that the thing that only lets you send or receive 1 file at a time and you have to use the wizard thingy.Cheers for any info in advance.

Ordered!

Nice 1, cheers

wont it cost more in foreign transaction fees from my bank than £2.50?

Not if you pay by Paypal, they charge you in pounds and do the exchange themselves.

Hey i purchased this a few months back and have been using it ever since! Just to clear up...

I wonder if this supports 64-bit Vista...

Yes, it does. I'm using "Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit" OS and it works perfectly. It didn't need no driver installation, windows recognised it straight away. I have used it in other 64-bit systems and it works flawlessly. Here's a few images:

How tiny the bluetooth device is:

Bluetooth working perfectly with Windows 64-bit Vista and evident through Device Manager:

Ironically i have just used the bluetooth device to get the images to my PC

Other specs i have found out:

Min. rate of transfer: 17KBPS from 5/6m

Avg. rate of transfer: 40KBPS from 3m

Maximum rate of transfer: 70KBPS from 1m

I'm quite close to the computer so I get ~70KBPS.

I hope this helps clear things up for you people!

Cheers Zukky.

You might want to consider resizing your images to a max 800*600 for forum use

Sorry about that, resized.

Yes, 5 metres is the maximum practical range.

Come to mention it, I had to download some special bluetooth software to get it working. The software it comes with doesn't work under Vista.

does this work straight out of the box with vista premium or does one have to instal some kind of software?

best to install software.

i seem to remember the software they supply being dodgy, i read it on the comments on their site

Software doesn't work with Vista and I couldn't get it to work through Windows Update and in the end I had to pay for a Bluetooth Stack but of course YMMV especially if YKWYAD!

Does anybody know if this supports A2DP?

RAM harlot!

Yes it will support A2DP, but that depends on the software you use (like bluesoleil), and if your bluetooth device your connecting to supports it

Nice one purchased cheers just hope it does work with vista as me boy needs one to leave in his new lappy HOT

Hi all.

I am wanting to stream music from my Sony VGC-V2M desktop pc to my Sony Dav-x10 home cinema system which has a dm port bluetooth reciever. I can play music from my mobile phone to the home cinema, it works really well. This got me thinking it would be even better if I could do the same but from my pc. I am not sure if I can buy a bluetooth transmitter which will allow me to do this though,
Any help or advice would be great.
