Shame about the silver end. But Great! Heat

I think the silver end looks brill n stylish, just bought with possible quidco :o)

Got one at 0.99pence....thanks

Price has gone up to 1.39, still not bad

Hot

still great at £1.39! heat added

will this charge an ipad with the official 10w ipad lead?

Since when has eBay been ok on here, excluding big retail outlet stores?

Also, no mention of what that is suitable for, HTC/iThings/other.

If it is truly 1000ma then great but after buying 3 other various ones claiming to output 1000ma I'm not even going to risk £1.39. The only one I've found to work with my Sony Walkman and a Nokia 5800 is the 'Ring' version from Tesco. Whilst it gets very hot charging the Nokia it does the job, the others, including the highly regarded 'Belkin' one are junk.

My dad has one of these exact ones for his tomtom, works a charm. Just a note the USB port is slightly looser than some other ones but works nicely

need to amend price on post to 1,39

Will this work fine with an iPhone 4?

10W at 5V is 2A
This charger is rated at 1A (5W)
Therefore ... this will charge an iPad, but more slowly.

i paid only 99p yesterday and got it today

I read somewhere that for HTC phones (possibly all phones) that these cigarette usb things can only give out 500ma , i got a cheap dedicated phone charger cable for the car instead and it charges my Desire fine.

hopefully it charges my sony Xperia play, I bought the usb charger yesterday

If you run tomtom on htc, alot of the car chargers won't have enough power to charge it. What I did was simply get the authentic htc car charger on amazon, it cost just £3-4.

I think some people like the idea that it sits flush and looks quite trendy (ie a flush fitting USB socket) as opposed to a "Normal" cigarette lighter type phone charger that pertrudes. My slight concern is that this is powered all the time (If your car has a permanent live to the cig. lighter socket) and for 99p would you put your pride and joy car, sometimes worth big money in the hands of some cheap shoddy chinese plug that if things went wrong has the capability to torch your car overnight. That said it is cheap, but you pays your money....

Depends on the charger and/or the cable used! Basically you need to short the DATA lines for the HTC/Android device to charge at the higher rate, otherwise it will automatically think it's connected to PC USB and only charge at 500mA.

Doesn't it cut off the supply to the cig charger when keys are turned off??

some cars do, others don't

I charge my HTC Desire with this in the car and it does the job..
Only thing i dont like about it is that it does get red hot after charging for a bit.....

I got one of these as part of an iPad charging set from eBay. It's better than a fake belkin as it operates silently where they have a high pitched whine.
However, my iPad says "not charging" when plugged in.
