Does that include the flight home :whistling:

no-it includes the ship bringing you home as per the itinerary:whistling:

Possible 6% quidco.

less than 5 hours in amsterdam

hahaha i saw that. the plan is basically you leave in the evening, sail all night, get on abus to amsterdam, few hours there, bus back, back on the ship for an overnight sail back.

room is also inside facing, so you're basically surrounded by walls.

sounds more like a prison transfer to me rather than a cruise

All in the eye of the beholder of course....

I have been on one of these before and it's much more relaxing than I imagined it to be - I'd recommend it - this is a bargain price.

They sell Sea Legs on board for a tenner a go.

Went on this trip on October, but with a better cabin. I really enjoyed it. Food's good on board too, if you don't mind paying for it. But it's all you can eat.

Voted hot.

really wish they did Dover to Amsterdam.

i know that the food on board is good, but £18 for breakfast and £40 for dinner seems v. pricey. i am sure it wasn't so bad last time i travelled, maybe its the £/€ rate.

edit: i was looking at a different offer, breakfast seems to be from £9 and £20 for buffet dinner, which i would say is ok.

This trip is as good as you make it really.

If you're not much of a drinker then I can't imagine the boat being much fun. But the 8 times I've been on this trip I've had a fantastic time. Just take you're own drink on the boat for a cheap fun night. But beware of the hangover. It's not a pleasant one.

5 hours in Amsterdam isn't really long enough to do any sight seeing outside of the city or owt. But if you're planning to go for the things the city is famous for, then it's more than enough time!

Voted hot from me like. I love this trip.

Ive been on this trip before and also the Hull to Bruges one as well and both are very good if you can get them at a cheap price.
The Amsterdam one is fine and yes you do only really spend around 6 hours in Amsterdam before you return to the ship but to be honest that enough time to have a walk around see Anne Franks house - marvel at the red light area and have a bite to eat and maybe a couple of drinks Amsterdam isn't that great in my opinion anyway.
The ships themselves are very nice with live entertainment in one bar and satellite tv on a big screen in another and a live pianist in another. Yes you pay a bit more on the ship for drinks and food but not astoundingly so and as for £18 for a breakfast well I never saw any prices like that (there are more than one resteraunt on board and I think people are quoting prices from the posh a la carte resteraunt) bear in mind you can take your own food with you if you want to cut costs and lot of folk were buying cheap booze on the ships duty free free shop and just drinking that.

For £29 I think its a bargain - where else can you get a weekend away at that price?

Clever to sail from Newcastle as Amsterdam will seem like less of a dump.

Here mate I've been to Peckham + Hackney. London is a pure dive.

Miserable trip on a North Sea ferry with expensive food, expensive drink and all the weather winter can throw at you. Madness.

WOW - what a totally witty comment - you should be on a stage mate - just watch that no-one kicks the stool away.... :whistling:

Been on this trip 2 weeks ago. Had a great time. Good food and entertainment on board.
This is a good deal...voted hot.

What a cheek!! when where you last at newcastle???

Ive been to alot of other cities and newcastle stands out pretty well

Seems like a good deal to me if you're after a couple of cheap nights away and having a laugh in Amsterdam! Take your own drink in your suitcase and you'll have a ball without spending a fortune! Is it obvious I am from Scotland ;-)

About the only reason to go to Newcastle - to get this ferry out of the place!!

£29! Thats a lot of money for those geordies!
But good deal I suppose, if it lets you escape that #@%$-hole for a couple of days.

ho ho ho :santa:

Amsterdamage again :w00t: hot !!!!

can anyone tell me the months available as it won't let me book at work it keeps coming up with a security certificate..if anyone knows the months/dates then i can try and book tonight if it's still available when i get home

Lol... perfect for valentines...tell the missus you got her a cruise....not the Med or the Caribbean, Newcastle to Amsterdam. £29 seems quite cheap, but I think I'll give this a miss.

5 hours? Possible worth it for the better quality "entertainment" in Amsterdam... Cheaper too (apparrently) :whistling:

amsterdam isnt that big anyway - 5 hours is plenty

agreed, london is a dump - overpriced, smog filled, unfriendly, graffitti ridden, congested (beyond belief) concrete sesspit...cant understand why anyone would want to live there unless you are young....my wife wanted to live in london, i wanted to live near reading as i like the green coloured stuff - grass (and trees) rather than concrete..i won

voted hot good deal

Have you actually been on this ferry/route? I suspect not.

If you have why dont you quote actual experiences and if not, why dont you just keep your trap shut!

Yet another mackem i suspect!!

Just about enough time to visit your favourite schexy time girl down the red light, a quick coffee then back home.

Are these the old Norsea / Norstar / Norsun boats?

Don't eat the hotdogs. They're rank!

They're amaaaaaazing!

Been a few times on this trip, its great. Good entertainment onboard and good bars. Wake up with a terrible hangover tho, then on a bus to the city centre and you get more than enough time to get high, see the red light district and a bit of shopping.

Ferry home is a bit long because if you drank all night going you arent in the mood to do it again lol.

“Tourism is worth over £1bn to Newcastle and Gateshead and, despite one of the worst recessions in recent times, the city region attracted more than 18 million visitors last year."

Hmmmmm if it's so bad why do people keep on coming!?

NUGGET!!

No mate I got wrong for it as they said as soon as you leave the port your in international waters and the Dutch law doesn't apply anymore -they were ok -they just said to finish the joint off standing outside and then not to light anymore which was more than fair of them.

What's the craic in the coffee shops these days - I'd heard smoking tobacco indoors was banned but the wacky baccy not. Do they just sell you a pure one, or is there some substitute, or do you have to wander out to their outdoor smoking area?
