Don't, USB fans are useless

Nonsense. They're designed to go on a desk a couple of feet in front of you and they work perfectly fine
bought a couple of these today.

Metal frames, dedicated on/off switch on the back and a near silent fan action which actually pushes quite a lot of air about.

Really works, easily worth a couple of quid. Ignore the detractors of USB fans.

Works just as well as any other fan of this size. USB is a flexible power souce. Powered mine via a plug, laptop and a battery bank which lasted days before needing a recharge. Beats having a tiny battery inside which runs out quickly.
Great for a small room in a caravan.
Big fan of these fantastic fans
Does anyone know what wattage these are? 3w seems to be the magic figure that makes the fan good, had a few 2w and 2.5w ones and they just feel underpowered. If 3w, these are a bargain.
Bought one, ok if your <30cm away from it.

yeah can anyone confirm watts
cant speak for this particulat one, but they seem a pretty generic item and i picked up half a dozen from tesco after christmas a couple of years ago for a £1 each... (reduced) Cant go wrong I figured... I was wrong... in use they were fine... however just stopped working after a month or so... no worries i thought, another one in the shed... couple of weeks later it also packed up... gave my sone one for Uni, and when he came home I said oh how did you get on with the fan on yer desk... Stopped after a couple of weeks too... so I'll not be riskingthe same design again, maybe these are upgraded a bit..good luck..

using it after a week the airflow is down to almost ZERO. slower ad slower ventilation. dont you have any problems with it?
just returning mine. it is a joke after a few days. slower and slower...

I've got one at home, one at work, usually running each of them for a couple of hours at a time. So far I've had no problems with either of them, but let's hope I haven't just jinxed that! They are currently working just as well as the day I bought them.

I'd be happy if they just outlast the current hot spell. I've spent more on a coffee in the past, that's lasted about 10 minutes!
These fans are very hackable.

***Any Modifications are done at own risk***

I cut the cable and put a MT3608 (Approx cost 40p) voltage step up converter in line with the cable.
Instead of 5 volts going to it I stepped it up to 6.9 volts.
This doubled the amount of current getting used and doubled the speed of the fan as far as I could tell.
I did try some slightly higher voltages but 6.9 volts seemed to be the sweet spot.

***Any Modifications are done at own risk***

Without doing the modification the fan is a bit underwhelming speedwise but okay for £2,
