Nice
Hopefully this gets more heat that the other deal which has 5p of RRP and has for some reason over 1500 degrees.
Gotta be hot.

Heat added.

Don't be silly that's not the way it works around here!
Be aware that it won't play cartridges. Seems to be confusion over that.
must resist........ill bite on the next post that has it 5p cheaper X)
Just to let others know - It has been confirmed there won't be any more games available than the 30 you get with the system. No digital distribution for more games or expansion through mini-carts. Only the 30 already built in the system.

Disappointing.

On a brighter note, Nintendo has been coy on the subject of a mini SNES. So there is that to look forward to.
this should more like £40 since its rrp is $60 same as a new game
I'm tempted, but the lack of ability to add NES games is offputting.

A mini SNES, with the right games, would be an instant purchase. One of the greatest game libraries of all time!

Agreed........unless that's locked to 30 games as well Having said that, as long as it has Secret of Mana on, I'll be happy
Unless it's possible this could be modified to play other ROMs in the future this is useless to me. Far better emulation options on just about every platform out there already, NES emulation is so mature that it's practically perfect these days.

This would just be a collectors item to sit on my shelf and look good.

Agreed, I think the nvidia shield for £99.99 on prime day would of been a much better deal (Time machine at the ready). Can easily put as many Nintendo games on it as you like, and will do much more besides.

This will just look a lot cooler sat on the shelf.

Surely including the entire rom collection for fifty quid would be a fairer price?

Quid a game! Far too pricy.

Sorry. Make that nearly £2 a game. I thought it said with 50 games.
Is there even a full titles list?
PaulPogba

What about the cost of the console?I think it's an excellent price

What 'console'? It doesn't play cartridges! Just 30 emulated games and only one pad!

Yeah why don't Nintendo pay for the rights for all 713 NES games that were made so they can include it in this for £50? Seem like a great idea!
tumbleweed34

Just seen the full list. Pretty good titles to be fair, but just not enough of them for my tastes.
Just buy a S905 based android box for £25 approx, £2 mini bluetooth game controller and download happy chick and you can play all the nes, snes, n64 games you want at full speed. Might even have the power to run Dreamcast games as well.

Pay for the rights? You mean those ones that they already own?

Unless you mean 3rd party titles, in which case, fair enough. Just include every officially licensed Nintendo game.

Where's the harm? They're ancient games that could be enjoyed, rather than buried in a hole and forgotten about.

They'd sell more units as well. It would be a win/win.

Headline: Officially licensed games cost most than illegally downloaded rom shocker!!!

Going to be hard choosing 30 games for a mini snes without expansion for the rest.

This is great in theory but I think the appeal of this thing is largely how it looks and that it's an official Nintendo product.
nice

I'd rather have the flexibility of a Raspberry Pi 3 with RetroPie + Roms for NES, SNES, MegaDrive, NeoGeo, N64, FBA, MAME, etc... for a similar amount of money.

RP3 £27
MicroSD 64GB £10
2 BT Controllers £15

I understand that but the reality is its a small selection of games for one retro console and people will soon bore of it. However as a collectable displayable item its very good if you can stomach the price. As it doesn't even come with a psu and its based on such ancient hardware it probably costs very little indeed to make. Just a few dollars probably.
Gonna hold out on this since it doesn't play cartridges, plus the games are a bit of a mixed bag despite some classics. I guess they didn't want to undermine the virtual consoles library on Wii U/3DS

Went to game earlier today and they have the controller listed as 7.99 with "game exclusive" next to it on poster
not sure how accurate as they regularly have editions you can get elsewhere
