At this price, you could use it till it got dirty then bin it!
From experience would be better with a fan, but voted hot as they are very useful.
Got one of these for work about 2 years ago, still going strong, upgraded to a microwave now though
thank you heaps.... my cooker is just about to die and it is a wierd size (80cm wide) so really difficult to replace. This would be great to help us out for a few weeks (or months knowing us) whilst we can better research the market for a new cooker
HOT.... literally!!!!!!! lol!!!!!!!
Can these only be used in Mini's or can you use them in any car?

Would this 'oven' operate at decent temperatures. Ie: heat to 200c to cook pizza or even whole chickens etc?
Perfect for Camping & Caravanning with an electric hookup, and great for things like Fimo baking crafts.
These things can be more cost effective (electricity-wise) than heating up your main oven.

But not in all cases. What's the power consumption?

Well done very good..X)

Does this heat up on the top? i.e. can it be used to cook pizza bases before using the grill to brown off the pizza?

It says it has upper and lower heating, so I don't think there would be any need to brown off if working in combination.
What I meant also is that would I able to cook chapattis on it? Thanks.

It is hard to tell from the photo on the Aldi website, it looks like the dial has 3 settings, dual heat, upper only, lower only.
looks good might get one
Bought one this morning and tested it cooking sausages for breakfast. It will replace the one I had in my camper van which is on the blink. Its a very neat size - 20cm high so will fit almost anywhere. The top does get very hot in use, but so did my other one - just ensure there is open space above it.
It will cook most small items such as pizza, sausages, burgers and chicken pieces - not quite big enough for a whole bird, though. I'm happy with the apparent build quality - mostly aluminium so its quite light, but sturdy enough. Time will tell and it has a 3 year warranty, which Aldi are usually pretty good with.
I also got one this morning at about 9.15, there were five left. I asked the cashier how many he had sold this morning and he said about ten! Looks like they are not going to be around for long.
just been to buy one from my local aldi in ellesmere port onl 3 left these are fantastic ive bought mine to take over to my apartment in spain ideal for a smaller kitchen and what a bargain once there gone there gone cashier said there flying out.
I have not opened mine yet, but for anyone that has, does the outside (top) get very warm? I was wondering if you could cook chapattis on it. Thanks.
Thanks just got mine from Grantham (6 or 7 left). A good post - you can pay this price for a much smaller model. These are a useful/practical size.
Low power consumption as well - so ideal for my PV system (free cooking).

Excellent glad u like it, happy cooking
I'll leave the technical stuff to the wife
I have one of these in the campervan. You can definitely do a roast for 2.

Just be careful - it's more or less like a grill that works on top and bottom so it's quite easy to burn stuff on both sides but still be uncooked in the middle. If in doubt, turn it down.

Otherwise, it's great!
Thanks newsgroupmonkey - I'm salivating just thinking about it.
I'll pass on your cooking tips to the wife
