Don't forget, you need a USB power supply for it as well. It needs 5V 1.5Amps.

If you're unsure, just get the one Nintendo makes.

Think it’s on Nintendo’s own site for £69.99 if they still have stock

No idea why you've put in the description it needs a power cable! It doesn't.
You can plug it into any modern TV with USB it works on mine 1.0A with no issues what so ever.

Rumour factory says No more Nes Minis and Snes bites the dust in March production wise.
Point being if dont have one dont wait for price to drop below RRP £69.99.
By the way you can pick these up on ebay for less than RRP, so much for scalping. (edited)

    Who told you that?

Can I Download a Nintendo ROM from the Internet if I Already Own the Authentic Game?

There is a good deal of misinformation on the Internet regarding the backup/archival copy exception. It is not a "second copy" rule and is often mistakenly cited for the proposition that if you have one lawful copy of a copyrighted work, you are entitled to have a second copy of the copyrighted work even if that second copy is an infringing copy. The backup/archival copy exception is a very narrow limitation relating to a copy being made by the rightful owner of an authentic game to ensure he or she has one in the event of damage or destruction of the authentic. Therefore, whether you have an authentic game or not, or whether you have possession of a Nintendo ROM for a limited amount of time, i.e. 24 hours, it is illegal to download and play a Nintendo ROM from the Internet.

We've been here before, every mini snes post this pops up. There's conflicting info everywhere, illegal/legal its happening and no one can stop it. Best to just administer your own piratical affairs i find.

If the piracy pertains to a game that is currently in production and for sale then the game companies have every right to bring out the big guns but if its for an old snes game that's oop no one really cares. Download a rom file of a game you dont own and keep it for longer than 24 hours. nothing will happen. The Ninty po po wont come knocking.

fwiw its a fun machine and if i had some spare cash i'd grab another after selling my other 2 modded ones. Playing NBA jam and Sunset Riders again was great.

Is there anyone in the UK who has ever been prosecuted or fined or whatever would happen, for having ROMs for a 30-year-old console or arcade machine? I would imagine that a very substantial number of people have dabbled in emulators at one time or another and that any such “prosecution” would not be in the public interest - unless of course the person in question was distributing ROMs for more modern games that are still “live”/on sale and profitable?

Purchased mine on the official nintendo site 2 weeks ago for the same rrp.Nice to see they have made plenty more of these,so the greedy third party sellers can't benefit charging stupid amounts of money. Now make more Nes minis followed up with the N64 mini classic later this year.

It’s funny that game developer Frank Cifaldi (who has remaster the Mega Man games) has found evidence that Nintendo themselves have done this and SOLD the games back to the public

I didn't. I said it needs a power supply. You're using your TV, as the power supply!

Indeed although Paradise has a few missing, I think they get takedown notices but if you Love Roms you'll find somewhere that has most of them (just use an ad blocker) =)

I spent some of this morning sorting Retroarch out properly on my Wii U, and discovering that James Pond and Zool have aged really badly. Saw the heat for this at £70 and still decided to cave in and get one of these from Very because they’d sent a 20 off a 50 spend voucher

Will be interesting to see if they do plough ahead with an N64 mini given the comparatively smaller library but would inevitably buy one.
  34. chicaneuk's avatar
Think the relative complexity of the controllers for the N64 compared to the NES and SNES might make a mini version of one a bit more expensive. Hope they do release one though.. these must have better Nintendo a few quid!
