Product Description

Nintendo’s follow-up console to the legendary Nintendo Entertainment System, returns in a new petite form as the Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Launched in Europe in 1992, the Super Nintendo introduced what many consider some of the greatest video games of all time – classics such as Super Mario World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Super Mario Kart, Super Metroid and F-ZERO. The Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Nintendo Entertainment System contains 21 pre-installed classic games, can easily be plugged into any high-definition TV using the included HDMI cable. For the first time, players who pick up the system can enjoy the intergalactic adventure Star Fox 2, the sequel to the original Star Fox (originally titled Starwing upon release in Europe) game that was created during the Super Nintendo era but never released … anywhere! The Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Nintendo Entertainment System has the same look and feel of the original system – only smaller – and comes pre-loaded with 21 games: · Contra III: The Alien Wars™Donkey Kong Country™ · EarthBound™ · Final Fantasy III · F-ZERO™ · Kirby™ Super Star · Kirby’s Dream Course™ · The Legend of Zelda™: A Link to the Past™ · Mega Man® X · Secret of Mana · Star Fox™ · Star Fox™ 2 · Street Fighter® II Turbo: Hyper Fighting · Super Castlevania IV™Super Ghouls ’n Ghosts® · Super Mario Kart™ · Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars™ · Super Mario World™ · Super Metroid™ · Super Punch-Out!!™ · Yoshi’s Island™ All of these games would be considered classics by anyone’s standards, and some of them in particular – Secret of Mana, Final Fantasy III, EarthBound and Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars – are massive role-playing games that can take dozens of hours to complete. Even for super fans who have playedall of these games multiple times, the inclusion of the never-before-released Star Fox 2 will offer them something entirely new to enjoy (players must prove their skill by completing the first level of the original Star Fox before Star Fox 2 is unlocked to play). Included with the Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Nintendo Entertainment System are one HDMI cable, one USB power cable*, and two wired Super NES Classic Controllers – perfect for players to dive into multiplayer action right away. Some of the games with multiplayer options include Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting, Super Mario Kart, Contra III: The Alien Wars™and Secret of Mana.

Genuinely disappointed at Shopto. They've listed it at a higher price than Game oO

I have to say I'm confused over why they would stop the Classic NES when it was selling so well then come back with a SNES at the similar price point.

Because of the Switch apparently.

Smyths take at dispatch.
Pre-ordered. I'm not taking any chances after how difficult it was to get an NES Mini. Thanks OP

Hopefully it'll have a similar OS to the NES Mini so that more games can be added to it, fingers crossed (_;)

Are two controllers bundled with this or not?
Oh, and GAME continues being GAME. They're asking for £80.
I pre-ordered at Smyths and Game.

Two controllers are included - it says so in the description
where's Amazon lol. I'd prefer to get it from them
Charge on collection/delivery
Shopto beats Game £84.85

I personally would have thought so if that is the finalised packaging. I just hope they make the controller leads a damn sight longer than the ridiculously short mini nes ones - pretty stingy with cable bearing in mind the price.
Amazon is at £80 as well. Smyths showing everyone up.
On the bright side, the really high cost may put off a lot of scalpers.

Shopto was going to be my 3rd choice. That's where I managed to get a NES mini for £49.99 months after it was released.

The first of many scalpers ive preordered twice but only because I would rather get it from Game, but if Smyths is a misprice hopefully theyll honour it as part of their price promise....

It's still a larger risk. If a scalper wants to double his money like they mostly did on the mini Nes, it will have to sell for at least £140. Hopefully with Nintendo finally supplying enough units, it won't get to that price.
"*Please note: an AC adapter for the USB cable is required to play the system but is not included in the packaging."
Got two one for me, and one for my work mate, just in case they won't let me have two I pre-orded on amazon as well. If I get 3, can either give it some one as a x-mas present, sell it at a high price, or standard price to friends so win win.
I've pre-ordered at Smyths and Amazon incase Smyths mess us about.
Pre-ordered, just in case the wife wants one and my son will be almost 5 by then, so something he may be interested in.

I'd argue it will go for more than that price. Though the NES reached a larger audience, this SNES offering is far more appealing to the gamer core, especially with that lineup of absolute classic (plus two controllers bundled in, plus the never releases Star Fox 2). A core that is much more willing to pony up the premium.

Are they increasing production volume this time around?

If that's the case, I might hold off for a bit. I wanted to buy this because of the allure in difficulty to get one.
