Why does this look like a gym top
I have a minky ironing board it is the 2nd one I've had and pleased with it, sturdy so doesn't wobble when ironing. Well made.
Does it have fast charge ?

Yes - as per description

Receiving conflicting information. On the questions and answers section, this is one of the responses:

Hi there,

No, the Ergo Ironing Board 850/1680 is not suitable for use with a steam generator Iron. We do however recommend the Ergo Plus Ironing Board Cat number 542/1653, or the Minky Ergo Supreme Ironing Board 543/9968., for use with all Steam Generator Irons.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for flagging. Having done some research, looks like it doesn't have the shelf for the generator iron. )-:

A little more than this, you’re saving about £10 depending on when you look.
Ordered ! Heat added
Normally around £40 so a significant saving. This is compatible with a steam generator but it does not have a shelf.

As somebody has already pointed out you will need the £50 Ergo Plus if you want a shelf for the generator to sit on.
is there any truth to the 'reduces ironing time greatly' claim or is it just marketing?

Bought the sexy blue version on Amazon warehouse for £18 but was missing cap rubber on one of its feet so had to return, got vouchers so might as well get this, I probably won't be the one doing the ironing, heat

The HUKD is correct and Argos Q&A section incorrect.

Have no idea about the supreme but this and the plus are almost exactly the same, there is no difference in the material and construction of the top from seeing both of these. They are both suitable or both unsuitable. Looking at them, they both have a mesh like base for the cover so they are okay for steam generator irons.
