According to Google: 'No matter what hot water system you have installed in your home, it won't matter. Electric showers, 8.5kW, 9.5kW or 10.5kW will all run completely independent of the water system you have in place. In turn, this means the more powerful the shower, the greater the flow of water at your desired temperature. Simply put, if you want hotter water at a higher pressure, you'll need a higher power, and a higher kW rating
I'm not an electrician but I know that the electric cable required for a 10kw shower is different to that required for a 9kw so may add to the expense of fitting it
.....the staff will have these before customers have any chance....

These things need their own separate line, but it isn't expensive to do.

There were LOTS available, also somebody else posted another deal from a different Homebase store, it seems they are getting rid of these, so may be able to grab a bargain.

Yes, and £50 in another one too. I think they are dicontinuing these, so probably each store will have different prices. The £14 one was 9.5 Kw, this one is 10.8Kw, the most expensive of the 3 models.

One from £50 down to £15 in homebase Streatham Vale. Sorry, I didn't take a pic
You know those cables that run under the Atlantic Ocean? Well that's what you'll need to run this if you don't want to make toast by holding bread against the bathroom wall.

Just sayin'

This will still work when your boiler breaks down

Hi, is the kw matters as I don’t know what’s mine?

Yes it does. You could potentially have a electrical fire. For example you have a 8.5 electric shower with 8.5 electrical wirering and you put a shower of 10.5 which is not rated to be used with 8.5 electrical cable as it will not support the more than 8.5kw and you can overload the electrical circuit and cause a fire. You can check what ke shower you have they normally have a label inside. If you can turn the power off to your shower and make it safe. You can remove the top cover and look at the labels inside that’s how I found out what kw my shower was when it died on me.

Dunno 10mm cable is fairly expensive 25m probably £100 plus labour and any repair work gets expensive fast. I know cause I'm doing a tear out of mine.

If your lucky and the wall is hollow behind your current shower then it's very easy but if it's solid forget it you'll need to rip half the wall out.

Would this work even if I don’t have a hot water supply or boiler
I had my house rewired recently and the electrician replaced the cable going to the electric shower to a 10mm one, than later on that day National Grid came out to replace the in feed or whatever it's called coming in from the street and they said that it's probably still the original cable (the house is about 100 years old) and probably it's a 6mm cable. So I've got a 6mm cable coming in from the street and then a 10mm one going from the fuse board to the shower
The 10kw ones will need a 10mm cable.
Unless you have rewired and specifically asked for 10mm, you will almost certainly only have 6mm.

My nearest Homebase is in Brentford (London) Gillette Corner and it is CRAP. It is known for putting discount tickets on nationwide offers to obscure the bar code so it something is a pound in the national clearance there will be an orange managers discount ticket for a fiver plastered over the bar code so it cannot be sold for a pound if the original prices was a tenner. You will not find anything worth buying in here (even at full price) it has practically no plumbing stuff and the staff are less than helpful and just come off as fed up. This store was meant to close however was reprieved, if Homebase had any sense they would shut this store and put potential customers out of its misery.. For that matter perhaps someone could please NOT buy Homebase when it goes bust again and spar the world an appalling retail experience, indeed one wonders why ANY of its suppliers want to have their brand associated with this over-priced project in consumer alienation

I think all Homebase are rubbish, I certainly can't find anything in any if the 3 I have around. If it shows something available on line for c&c and you place an order, they ring to let you know the product is not in stock. Never managed to get anything when I placed orders on line.
In store is hit and miss, you go for something and come home with something else. No prices, chaos, lack of knowledge...If one product is £5 at your local, will be £20 at mine and so on.
I do believe this is one of the worse big retailers in The UK and can't see them staying open for long.
Heat added bought two .

This is scanning at £99.99.

Is this offer store specific because I checked several models at the till with no luck of a silly price for one?

Yes, please read title and description. Ignore what is on line, they are all full price. I was told they are replacing the Mira showers, so expect reduction in price everywhere. The only issue they may not be reduced at the same time and the prices may be different. Somebody posted a Mira deal for £14 in another Homebase.

If you've checked at the till, perhaps come another time. Homebase had reduction on Grohe products but at my local was still full price. Kept stopping twice a week, eventually I found the product at a reduced price.

Fair enough, incredibly frustrating
ALL these shower prices ARE store specific and most stores have different prices, nothing to do with prices not having been changed yet. Some will be a bargain price and others will still be full price.

Yes as it will heat the water inside and needs a dedicated cold water feed.

Agree! The only thing is these products (in this case Grohe, Mira, Triton, etc) will be discontinued or rebranded so the expectation is all Homebase shops will reduce the price on these. So good to know to keep an eye, if full price today, better visit again tomorrow. Some may be reduced more than once if not sold. I wanted Grohe taps and instead buying them all at full price I visited Homebase on weekly basis and bought them gradually. I did this because I knew Homebase is getting rid of them and will reduce the price.
15min shower per day will cost around £12 a month on a 10.8kw shower. Family of 4 who like long showers = ouch.

You can argue with them. I posted a deal for a Triton shower in Morecambe, somebody just replied he went in a different town and got it at the same price. Perhaps some stores are a bit behind...

Somebody replied to my 2 other posts (Triton and Navas shower in Morecambe) got them at the same price in a completely different towns. Aparently full price on shelf, reduced at till. So, some may be nationwide.

Glad my post helped. Did you get them from Morecambe or from somewhere else? Were the same price as the ones I listed? Curious if it is nationwide. Thanks!

Yup CW feed
Went to Newark and found this, because website said £165 though they weren't sure if price was right but they honoured the sticker, but ripped it off the wall so no one else could get it that price
Thanks very much OP weve been looking for a new more powerful shower so I'm a happy lady
