Just been told by a friend about this little gem at my local B & Q (south yorkshire) not available online.

I can only find this fan on the website, which seems to be the same photo, but it's not remote controlled. ]http//ww…rue

I see what you mean, the picture does look the same and also description but this one does include a remote for dimming, turning on/off the light/fan and also changing the speed.

I've took a couple of snaps for you guys

This is the Brushed Steel Effect one, it is remote controlled, looks the same model so maybe they got the specs wrong for the white one?
Looks a good buy!

thank you and i wouldn't leave it too long as i watched 4 get sold in the 10 seconds i was there

Bought two this morning.
Thanks.

Good deal.

I bought this fan a couple of years ago for my bedroom, make sure you balance it or the noise will drive you nuts.

Just been down and bought 2 more, though they did have trouble finding it ( was on the high racks only accessible by forklift)

I wouldn't suggest phoning the manufacturers and saying that there was no remote in the box just so that you can have one for each side of the bed as that would be wrong, right? :whistling:

Its Bl**dy heavy voted Hot! Thanks:thumbsup:

Anyone know if there's one in Sutton or Wimbledon branches? :-o
The online thing says its out of stock in store as well...

I phoned Customer Services 0845 609 6688 and they told me one of the local stores had 13 showing in stock, when I got there they couldn't find any, eventually found 2 on the top high racks but there were definitely not another 11 so phone your local store and get them to do a physical check before you go.

You'll need item number which is 5015792023842 for white and 5015792013164 for the brushed steel

I've just phoned the Darlington Whessoe Road store who confirmed they were £20 and they had 5 left. I just had to give them that EAN number and they looked it up straight away. I arranged to have 2 put away behind the checkouts to pick up later today

Anyone who has bought one know what sort of power consumption is listed in the specs for the fan?

do you need like any special existing wires in your ceiling already? because i just have like a normal light bulb fixing at the moment and read somewhere that sometimes you might need extra wires to install a ceiling fan, and maybe extra support on the ceiling because it could be quite heavy.

out of 10 how hard is this job for someone who doesnt have much DIY skills? lol

Thanks guys

manchester Kingsway B&Q had about 20 there, i picked up 2, but already have 2 downstairs

just before you install them, it can be tricky to install, although these have pin plugs for each part, the remote sensor, the fan, the lights, so its somewhat easier to to install than the traditional "holding and wiring" ones

one remote can control all the fans too btw

one more thing, the fastest fan speed is nothing to write home about, doesnt seem to push lots of air as a top decent one

no just 3 wires from the top, earth, neutral and live

its not too dificult to install, just make sure the sensor goes in the top compartment closest to the ceiling

when i saw that brick transformer, i thought where the f is that going to fit lol

manchester fort (cheetham hill) also have about 20, how long did it take you to install darthballs? oh yeh and what tools did you need? thanks

wow what a great price, voted hot. ;-):-D

Loads in Huddersfield although I decided against it as they looked really cheap - I can't see anyone buying one at over £100!

Where does it fit? Inside the lamp casing or do you have to fit above ceiling like with spot lamps?

What is the wattage consumption of the fan?

My local in Slough has got the Titanium version and that is still £99 :-(
Titanium version is not the same as OP, it only has 4 blades (although picture shows 5) !?

the transformer goes below the ceiling in that top section flushed to the ceiling in that compartment inside it

not sure what the power consumption is, can check later, they are in the back boot of my car at the moment, and im far to lazy to go down lol

another thing, the manual says it can be operated via chain or remote, but this is not the case, this fan only comes with the remote kit

Phoned the Stevenage B&Q and got told there is no stock and it's discontinued.....

voting hot though....

I have two of these, bought a couple of years ago costing I thought about £120, and I certainly do not regret it, great bit of kit, and a steal at this price!

Plenty in stock at the Perth store - still showing at £103 on the shelf but there is a pallet with loads of deals at the front of the store.

In the instruction manual it says:-

Fan 45w bulb 60w total 105w

only a 40w bulb in the light also so you would need further lights in the room probably. Seen these ones in B&Q before and I also think they look rather cheap and plasticky but for £20 I guess many will like these. Not sure about the original price stated either

Got one reserved for pick up later, would have preferred the brushed steel but only had it in white. Ideal for a small bedroom, however certainly not for a large room having one central bulb instead of adjustable spotlamps for sure.

For those fitting, remember if you don't already know..google your wiring and make sure you know which is your switched live wiring!

Den38 said the fan is 45w... The bulb is 60w.

No it's a 60w bulb.
In the bedroom it's nice not to have a 100w blinding, plus it dims.
