MITCHELL & JOHNSON WLD+211T NETWORK STREAMER - £199 @ Peter Tyson

£100 off Tyson's original price and £200 less than Currys. This is great for accessing other devices in the home and online streaming. It simply dials in to a home network router so you can either access the music stored on an individual device or connect to the web for streaming services like Spotify.

"simply dials in to a home network router".....too technical for me!
Opens up and finds raspberry pi
All it means is that it can connect to your home WiFi. Then from there it can either go straight onto the internet for something like Spotify, or it can play the music files on your phone, tablet or computer (providing they are also connected to the WiFi at the same time).
No dsd, no flac 24/192.

Its a bit lacking to be honest.
I would love one of these. It would sit nicely alongside my Echo Dot, Soundblaster bluetooth speaker, HMDX Stream bluetooth speaker, and generic chinese bluetooth speaker. And my AZATOM ProLive HSX7 bluetooth headphones/speakers. And my La-Z-Boy chair with inbuilt bluetooth sound system. And bluetooth soundbar in our "good room" (which means its never used either). But I think my wife might have something to say about it.

PS No HDMI output.

It's pretty sparse under the hood too. After having a quick peek in some of the Cambridge audio equipment this one seems a little cheap, always freaks me out a bit to see a board with a load of components missing.
Had a quick look at ca edge nq and it's about £3500

Extra 100 for Pioneer N30AE worth the money over this. No dsd but 24/192 and lots of features couples to top quality audio components.

My bad, Pioneer does have dsd. Extra star.

I guess this is mostly aimed at people with Analogue only amps that don't support XLR. I was kind of expecting to see a toroidal transformer but I guess these things are built to a budget and 2nd hand good quality stuff is pretty cheap.

Edit just realised that a lot of the media network players dont seem to have toroidal transformers until you hit the £1000 mark
