Totally agree - even Lidl who claim to be fair and saving us money could probably knock another tenner off!

Under a tenner here from large ebay seller, perhaps useful for some?

Yeah about a year ago, no problems decent tap. Paid £120 for bath tap from a bathroom showroom at the same time, and its knackered already. So on that basis a bargain.

Use either the same or a very similar one and it wouldn't for properly. If it was fixed in properly it would leak from somewhere and if left lose it would just wobble around. It was a Sunday so had to end up going to buy one from wickes which was on offer for £20 (luckily - only the black one, chrome was still £45). Had no choice.

Didn't bother returning it, as it probably would've cost the same to return it - but more due to the fact my sister couldn't be bothered returning it.

same as above. got enay onw which was bad fitting. hanging loose til I get another

Yes! Very easy to install and I am not a professional plumber. They are much better looking than the cheap versions sold in UK.

I bought the small ones.

It will have a couple of pre-threaded, flanged 15mm copper tails (they will be more like 8 where they join the tap body). Straight through the worktop and connect via a couple 15mm compression flexi-hoses. The top body is secured via a c-shaped clamp with a thread rod and nut. The whole assembly will take a non-numpty about 15mins to plumb, its a doddle. Normal rules apply, don't over tighten or crack any old solder joints and you cannot really go wrong!

Did you eventually find it?

I need two holes one..... I currently have two separate taps and want one mixer for both taps... Just hope that makes sense...

The plumbing is for all intents and purposes identical, you will have to replace your sink (or cap one hole) or make good the existing surface.

yes! the larger one into a kitchen it is well made connected up well and is still working perfectly after about 6 months it looks identical from the picture so I assume it is the exact same model as when I bought it.

Don't consider the warranty unless you are happy to fit yourself as the labour costs of replacement outweighs any warranty. I've had three sets of swirl taps from Screwfix - probably same manufacture as specs look the same - all three have failed with the cold tap seizing solid on one occasion - in the on position!
My suggestion is quality brassware every time now but watch out because even brands like Bristan have some products they simply brand for cost.

As a landlord, I've burnt my fingers with cheap taps, so no more! Go for a decent brand like Grohe for real quality and reliability. They don't cost a fortune - you can grab one online for about £50, which will last for quite a few years.

i wish these would invade the UK

Got an ebay one a few years back, looked the part but the last year its been leaking from the shaft where it seems to have rusted away from the inside about an inch away from the outlet. May give the longer version of this a try.

+1 for Grohe, but you have to really shop around to get good prices.

Lots of foreigners laugh at our funny old quaint hot and cold taps, these combined type make so much more sense, but don't them that!!!

They are not the same as the screwfix ones. They are solid taps, installed 3 of them in my house and i am very happy with the results.

Nothing like a spot of tap shopping to finish off a quality holiday!

Agree with previous comments, had a similar mixer tap from Aldi earlier this year, lasted a week.

Yes you can get a refund no problem, but it doesn't compensate you if you've paid to have them fitted. Buy something decent instead is my advice!

I've bout taps in Lidl at ridiculously low prices and they've been fine

After spending money on expensive taps which would only last 5 years or less, I decided to fit these cheap lidl taps and also thermostatic bars in the shower.
That was 9 years ago and there's no leak and the chrome is as good as when bought.
Be careful with ebay taps, I fitted two to a customer and he called me back 6 months later because they were leaking and the chrome was peeling off.
I'll be buying the lot in my local lidl

Someone cut the front off a Harley and made it into a tap!

I would definitely NOT buy this tap! I made the mistake of buying an almost identical one from Lidl (except with extendable spout) - it leaked from the get-go and finally the extendable part snapped off entirely - from very light use.
For a replacement, I was happy to pay £50 for a quality tap which, on the picture, is identical to this - but at least I know the parts and fittings are heavy duty, not cheap materials, and will last. Don't be tempted by the picture! It is very likely to be cheap rubbish!

Oh - and by the by, the 3-year warranty will be all but useless - you will find yourself writing, or even returning parts, to Eastern Europe or China, with all the hassle and lack of language understanding that involves

You need a new sink then, unless you don't mind having an unplugged hole.
Thinking about it, you could find a small cup that fits in it and use it for your toothbrush

The reason you buy cheap is that you are willing to pay twice - sometimes you will strike it lucky and if not, then it makes zero sense to contest the warranty or deal with 'lack of language' as you put it. However, If you are a home-owner and/or flushed then you should not be considering this option anyway..

Ignore all the scaremongers. Those are well made taps.

Just make sure to install them asap and if you are unlucky to get a defective one you can go back to the shop and replace it.

Just to check, you were connecting them up to water?

You do have to be careful with some of the eBay ones that from the outside look identical but I bought one trying to save a few quid but the base leaked no matter how much I tightened the housing. went to b and q and the housing was all one piece and no way it could leak. not saying the this one will be like that but something to watch out for.
