Saw that today in Poundland for £2.

Pretty sure that’s their usual price
When checked other shops like Asda etc they sell them for £5.
Saw Ocado sell them for £3.5.
First time I see M&M's in Poundland...at least in the one I shop.

This is their usual price but for 365g it's a bargain.
Few years back Tesco were doing the 1kg pack for £2 (IIRC), I bought about 50 packs and gave them out as presents for the family kids for the next 2-3 years holiday breaks.

They are rank. There used to be chocolate buttons, with and without nuts, called Treets. Wish they were still produced, they were yummy - very morish.

Checked today and they're still for £2.
Are you sure you saw the 365g for a pound?
They also have the smaller one ranged 109g-144g for a pound. ( obviously bought them as well).
