cracking read, cracking price
'Stephen Fry is one of the great originals. This autobiography of his first twenty years is a pleasure to read, mixing outrageous acts with sensible opinions in bewildering confusion. That so much outward charm, self-awareness and intellect should exist alongside behaviour that threatened to ruin the lives of innocent victims, noble parents and Fry himself, gives the book a tragic grandeur and lifts it to classic status." - "Financial Times". "A remarkable, perhaps even unique, exercise in autobiography - that aroma of authenticity that is the point of all great autobiographies; of which this, I rather think, is one" - "Evening Standard". "He writes superbly about his family, about his homosexuality, about the agonies of childhood - some of his bursts of smile take the breath away- his most satisfying and appealing book so far" - "Observer".

ordered....brill find Thank you

Fantastic book from a true legend. Buy it, read it!

great find, cheers..ordered

Great autobiography , if you haven't already read them I would recommend 'The Liar' and 'Making History' my fave of his novels.

Ordered, thanks.

Used to like him, I find him tedious and ubiquitously annoying now, even the title of this book is pretentious. Having said that this is only £1.99 and a friend recommended it to me when it first came out. I was even more nauseated by watching Mr Fry unwrapping his ipad on youtube today. That's my fault for watching it though

All of his books are fantastic, I was bought everything he's written for Christmas and they're superb.

Oh and for the 'rimkag' (what an apt user name) he didn't have a 'hissy fit', he was suffering from severe and untreated bipolar disorder and as somebody that diagnoses and treats it, let me tell you that it's not a laughing matter.

May I ask does BPII have similarities with GAD? I believe they overlap. I was diagnosed with GAD but I have suspicions I may be afflicted with BPII or Cyclothymia.

What the F...is this a GP's clinic now?

BTW. this book is crap, ok until the middle then descends into drivvel

I bought this book because I went to the same school as Fry (Stouts Hill), but in all honesty I found it a bit disapointing. Can't go wrong for £1.99 though....

Sorry that I offended you so much but I took the opportunity to ask a question relating to this person's expertise. As you may or may not be aware Stephen Fry suffers from Bipolar, so I believe it has some relation to this thread and I imagine that he mentions it in this book somewhat unless he wasn't diagnosed at the time.

Fixed that for you.

There was really no need to fix it... it served the purpose intended.

Its a fact, this book is crap.

Do you like Steven Fry's humour on the telly?
