what's special about this oil to cost that much - just seems expensive compared to the other choices. I always used to put castrol edge in my BMW (this one does not meet that spec as I need LL04) but now I am putting in supermarket oil as it meets the spec and as it is cheaper I change it more often
I do quite high mileage and have done over 200000 miles in my last two cars so I am intrested in what people think?

Anything that meets the Manufacturer's spec should be fine. It's likely made by one of the larger brands anyway.

Personally I use Quantum in my VW Group car which meets VW 504/507 spec. It's cheaper than Castrol Edge and allegedly used to be made by Castrol. Has changed now to be made by Fuchs, but it's usually around £25 for 5 litres. Makes oils like this look expensive.

I use the OP's oil to flush my badass 4x4's system out - stage 1 of an oil & filter change I put this stuff in, run it for a few days then drain it & put in something better such as Triple QX

works for me

Put Mobil 1 0w-50 in a Hillman Imp over 40 years ago, now thats nuts.

I have 5 series msport ... I change oil every 6,000 miles .. I like to keep the blood clean .. I never have egr and turbo problem

I have never had a turbo prob either - I put it down to the fact I always let it cool before turning it off

5 litres of quantum 5w 30 c2 £15 TPS bought today
