Picked up one of these in my local Tesco (Stafford). Should be national but probably getting rid of stock. Unfortunately out of stock on Tesco direct.

Mobicool W40 camping fridge. 12v/230v power.

Seems like a good price. £125 on Amazon.

Unleash the geese, I believe is the phrase I'll see in any subsequent posts!

Is this mini freezer or fridge or both?

No, it's more of a powered cool box and would be useless for camping unless you have an electric hookup, if you where to leave it connected to your car battery it would be flat within a few hours. These use the 'peltier cooling' system.

What is peltier cooling system?
These are good, halfords.com/cam…box got mine about 3 years ago when they were discounted to £40, fit lots in when camping for week at a time, as said you do meet a electric hook up, I tried running one off a car 12v portable jump start and it only lasted 1 hour before completely flatening battery eurocarparts.com/ecp…wcB
Saw these last friday at tesco near Exeter. It's not a camping fridge; only a coolbox.

The Peltier effect is a temperature difference created by applying a voltage between two electrodes connected to a sample of semiconductor material.

A really cheap, inefficient and ineffective method of trying to cool things down.
Unfortunately, proper compressor-based fridges that can run on 12V are still expensive speciality items for some reason.
Go low tech- we've got a Coleman extreme cooler, uses no power and still has ice for gin and tonic after 4 days camping.
(on my mobile so can't find the link, will look later)
