Shock

OK fair enough. Personally I have been with T-mobile and O2 in the past and now on TalkTalk for the last 4 months. I can't say I noticed much different coverage between any of those 3. Mostly been in towns around South of England, Essex & North Wales. But I'm sure there are areas that its may not be the same. As for Vodafone vs TT, I'm inclined to think voda rep may have told you a fib.. I'm aware that TT do not have access to Voda's 4G masts otherwise I was led to believe that the MVNO agreement covers all of Voda's 2G & 3G network.

Newbold

I'd have to take issue with you there. TalkTalk coverage is a serious issue because it just isn't there, even in large areas of towns and cities. And as for areas outside towns - forget it. I have a seriously cheap deal with TalkTalk (less than £4pm) but I'm having to leave just to be able to pick up emails etc again. Vodafone have told me that TalkTalk don't have access to all their masts, which might account for the problems. TalkTalk accept that there's a problem, but Vodafone's a cheap option for them, so Vodafone it is. Either way, I'm off, sadly, as otherwise I'm a very happy TalkTalk customer.

Shock

Coverage is not an issue, every network will have tiny bit of issues in corners of the country. But Vodafone coverage is fine, and someone above said this is a stripped down Voda, its not. Its full as good as Vodafone 3G/2G.

kalico

Everyone offers unlimited texts now, so no news there. If it had been unlimited minutes at this price, then a great deal. If its limited to existing customers, then not such a blazing offer.

buckrogers268

I don't have any issues in the Bristol area...

No you did misunderstand. I'm not stupid, I just didnt phrase it properly . What I meant to say was that i'd never had a sim previously from them. When I got a sim on this deal, they declined the cash back. Is that detailed enough for you to understand or would you like me to explain further??

I'll just transfer early I think. My 24 month contract with Talk Mobile ends 23rd Sept but I get charged by Talk Talk from about 20th August I reckon.

sofiasar

According to them you need to give 30 days notice and you have 30 days to transfer the number. So say 10 your contact ends give the number on 10th to your new provider. It's a big headache as I have another one to cancel for my brother on my account. I'm not looking forward to it.

redhot999

Im confused. You don't mean you have to wait 30 days to get a PAC code do you? I presume you mean you have to pay for a month after you request a PAC code ie give notice. I've got to request one from Talk Mobile soon and never terminated a pay monthly contract before.

sofiasar

It was coming to 12 month term. Previous staff said I need to give 30 days notice but in fact at end I found out I don't have to. In fact I got shouted at from a manager! . You still need to give 30 days notice for a pac code tho. I just wish you luck on their false information

redhot999

Did you try terminating a 12 month contract early then? You would expect cancellation charges in that case. I just cancelled one in the cooling off period. In fact she said if a changed my mind and kept the sim she would give me 2 months free! but when I do want one for my son I will try to get cashback when tcb has sorted out the proper link ( not working on simo deals from what I see) or do it with quidco again.

Be aware: whilst i'm very happy with TT, it does not yet have 4G...and it doesn't seem as though it has plans to introduce it in the near future!

Badongkadong

Remember that the OPO does not have band 20 support so it won't work on 800MHz LTE, this affects O2, Vodafone and parts of Three.

The Nokia Lumia 520 is a fun and affordable smartphone that looks good, has a great camera, and also comes with Nokia Music and free navigation.
Adam_95

tried to get this but it has gone back to £10

wee_snoop

Apart from the obvious fact that you need to be a talktalk customer (which I am) , is there any real reason why this is cold? Seen this phone for £70 in Sainsburys today so £5 a month (which will also cover any calls/texts I make/send) seems good to me. Was tempted by the same offer when they last had it on 2 months ago but stuck with my old pay as you go Sony Ericsson. It's about 5 years old now though and has started to shut itself down whenever it feels like it so I sort of need a new phone. Got an ipod touch so no interest in an iphone. Thought the Lumia 520 might be decent as my first smartphone, especially at a fiver a month

stinky84

Plus there's £35 cash back with Quidco,(I was sceptical but had £30 paid out for a £3.75 a month sim only 12 month contract last year) Seems cheap when the phone is about £85 sim free. Anyone know if I can transfer the number for a talktalk sim only contract to this phone offer as it's not from a different network?

Hi all. Just looking at the TT site. Anyone any idea what '1 month contract' means on their website please? Is that a 1 month rolling contract?

Smag

I have just ordered the half price £5 1gb deal for my son. we have been with TT for many years and found them nothing but the most helpful customer service representitives. sure they are base d in India but most of them have a better vocabulary than their English counterparts as long as you are patient there isn't any problems. last time I had cause to contact them I tried out the chat messenger service on their website. it was a fantastic way to resolve our problem and a plus point is you can save the text conversation to email for future reference if anything goes wrong. Thanks to the OP for the heads up!

whoop10

Biiig No No to talk talk. there customer service would give nightmares. You've been warned.

tonytucks1

I honestly cant understand how people say they are a joke,i have been with the company for five years now and can honestly say that i have never had any major issues with either my home service or mobile, for calls or internet( im posting this from the middle of Bodmin Moor on talktalk mobile ) so it cant be that bad and i must give credit where its due, sure some people may feel differently but just look at how lousy BT's service can be and ive recently had a couple of friends switch from Virgin media to talktalk because they are sick of poor customer service so there's good and bad with all providers.

On the newest release of the Samsung Jellybean 4.3 ROM there is very very little missing from this phone's capabilities. Flipping good camera, expandable memory, decent performance, does all the phone tasks well, has sat-nav, wifi, bluetooth, nfc, s-beam, DLNA, motion/gesture/voice control, gorgeous super amoled screen, huge array of good quality after market accessories from decent brands, brilliant independent developer support for a massive range of custom ROMs if you're into that kind of stuff (including KitKat 4.4.3) loads of newer Samsung apps ported from devices like the Note 3 including multi-window, smart stay, smart scroll etc what's not to like?
