Where is it? Tesco or Viking ?

not as good as the argos offer recently but argos one has ended so heat from me

Voted hot.

Iv'e got to admit, the previous call of duty games have been awesome.

Still Expensive though for a game :x

Hot, I was luckly and gotten the argos deal.!

I would swerve this based on refusing to pay a £4.74 delivery charge. Are Tesco driving it to your door in a van?

Many games are not worth £40 however a game like call of duty has so much replay value online it is value for money. I will be buying 3 copys at launch (me and 2 kids) and dont mind spending the £120. I bought 3 copys of call of duty 4 in 2007 and 3 copys of world at war in 2008 and both of the previous games still get played by me and the boys on a regular basis, value for money? yes i think so...but thats just my opinion.

Depends how old the kids are.

have to agree with this delivery should be free especially from somewhere like tesco

ASDA midnight opening probably

£29 -35..... thats what they usualy do.. it will be crammed though got discount card too

Dont see why people are paying £40 for a pre order which is 3 months away!
1 company is bound to offer a good price on it before then.
I agree with guy above, tesco or asa will do a deal at midnight on this.....gamestation by me opened at midnight for halo so maybe they might do something

Yup, someone will have hundreds of thousands of these in stock and want to shift a big number initially to help get it high in the charts and being played on Live. Then more people see that their friends are playing it on Live, they want to join them and that leads to more copies being shifted.

Someone will have this in a pre-Xmas special deal to help get people spending during the recession.

that's what i thought, got my discount card too

I know it's out of stock at Tesco at the mnute but they currently have free delivery on pre-orders too so it would remove the £4.74 delivery charge

If the game is unopened, would Tesco do a refund? I'm asking as I've pre-ordered from Tesco not realising you can't cancel (written in their Tesco Direct T&Cs) and as the money is taken straightaway!

Jus in case it is available cheaper elsewhere, it would be good to know I can get it from the cheaper pplace and then just return the Tesco one (but the refund policy on video games at Tesco Direct is unclear)...

When you get to the check out it shows postage as -£4.74. So it is free postage and a good deal.
Voted hot.

This was £36 for the PS3 too, so at the weekend I tried to login and buy; but they said Out of Stock on sunday 9th August.

Today, its back up at £45....

Making matters worse, it was up at £25 at Amazon, when I got there it was 35, which I hesitated and the next day it was back up to 45.

There was a link on here saying all games at Tesco were £20, on 7th August, nationwide. I checked at Solihull - they'd never heard of it, and the website showed no reductions.

WHERE on earth can we find MW2 for less than 40?

Today everywhere is 45 ... amazon, play, hmv, tesco, asda, game, ...

Works pc doesnt allow access to game sites, so unable to see if Gameseek's offer of £33 is real and in stock. Anyone had better luck????

As for pre-ordering, its not all bad; Amazon are offering to match thier best price between now and release date; but on One-click there was no mention of this offer being kept to, when ordering Bioshock 2 (yes 7 months away).

this worked fine for me just now. got a confirmation email straight away. i guess the only downside to it is tht unlike most other places, tesco charge ur card straight away. still a scorching deal when u consider almost everywhere else this is going to cost at least £45. and to those tht think this will be on offer on launch day - it wont be. activision are very greedy, and supermarkets wont be able to afford to sell this cheaper for a few days like they used to. remember, it costs them more to buy the game from suppliers as much as it costs us extra to buy it from the retailer. id take the plunge on this double quick. i highly doubt it will be cheaper anywhere else until at least after christmas

I went for it = saves queuing up at midnight at a good saving on retail

You can cancel the order at any up to and 28 days after receiving the item. This is clearly written in the Tesco Direct T's & C's.
However, you can't amend the order once it's been made.

Paul

Buy it for the PC - £30 or less ;-)

Thanks - used my clubcard points and got it for even less

hopefully Asda will not disappoint

of course amazon could always decide to up the price the day before despatch and cancel your order......

Thanks Paul. So, now that I've placed the pre-order, I can't cancel until I actually receive the item, but then, if unopened, I can return it within 28 days (?).

WHat are tesco like at putting out orders before release date?

Normally when you order with game and a few other places, they send out the game and you receive it a couple of days before release date... Are tesco good like this?

Afraid not. They send it out on release day, so you get it the day or two after. Same as ASDA

I will, without a doubt, be picking up this game, as I'm sure a lot of people, but I'm still tempted to wait for it's release in Nov and see what promotional offers are about then.

I still think it's beyond belief the way Activision are going to ramp the price up for this game. I don't want some wannabe economist patronisingly reminding me of the rules of supply and demand, but purposely upping the price for a single game way past that of any other game just seems criminal, no matter how long I think about it.

I will wait for another good pre-order deal I think closer to the time!

I managed to get COD5: WAW at the airport when it first came out cheaper than Modern Warfare!! used my old Euro's and it came to about £32.50 working back the exchange rate I bought them at!

But then again I've just bought the 3rd map pack at the weekend so 3x £7.99 (£23.97) -- That's abotu £60 on a game, which I find a bit shocking!

thanks OP - ordered. WAW was a bit rubbish but i can't wait for this one

Great deal, hard to resist, as I know I will pay more when the game is released if nobody has a deal then.
Might also use Clubcard points like sintas (if I can purswade the misses lol)

Not a bad price compred to the others, would be gutted to pre-order this and then see a load of promo deals out on release!

Yep... I agree.
Was just about to order it and then the delivery popped up.

Think i'll wait for an Asda midnight deal.

As said in a previous post, the delivery is taken off when at the checkout!! its free delivery on all pr-orders.

It annoys me when places will let u pre order but they don't deliver on release day luckily with sum funny maths I've managed to get my copy from the hut for £37 and they deliver for release day but this is still a great price heat added

You don't mind the price being reduced for sub-standard games, though?... ;-)

I, too, am tempted to wait until release. That could so easily all go wrong, though. (Can't remember whether it was GTA or Halo 3 I had a nightmare trying to get hold of on release, but it's not something I'm keen to repeat!)

For those that say WaW was inferior, I agree that the weapons aren't as good - but of course they wouldn't be, given the era. The graphics aren't as crisp, but I'm not sure how much of that is deliberate. But the multiplayer maps are better in WaW, in my opinion. And the Zombie mode is fantastic. The latest DLC pack was worth it just for the new Zombie map.

I am, however, looking forward to MW2 immensely.
