Having gambling and payday loans company searches on your credit report is definitely not a wise idea these days.

TopCashback has a long history of avoiding paying out full stop in my experience, especially car insurance offers, especially CO-OP CAR INSURANCE. They are no better than thieves, in my experience.

This "online casino" is based in Malta anyway, so you have absolutely ZERO protection if they decide not to pay you out, or go bust.

Payday loans yes, gambling no, it's just categorised differently on your credit report, so gambling and lottery comes under one section, doesn't remotely affect your rating though!

I can kill a couple of myths.
I've done most of the Gambling deals on Quidco and Topcashback. 95% of the time they pay up, you sometimes need to chase up them as they don't always track. It really is money for nothing, but yeah, don't ever actually gamble anything after the free bets.
Trick is to make sure you don't accept any of the free bonuses (as if you do win anything, you'll have to wager it over and over loads of times). Some sites have auto bonuses you'll need to have removed via chat before gambling.
Always read the T&C as to how much you need to spend to get cashback.

Oh, and yeah, has absolutely zero impact on any credit record - what a load of tosh.

I don't think a sane person will consider a £5 deposit as money laundering or a gambling addiction.

Not that it shows on your credit report in any case.

That's more pure bllocks jb2019. Opening a gambling a/c is certainly not opening a credit a/c. There;s no impact on your credit score whatosoever.

First off, they don't give you credit & you're not borrowing money.

I use my sisters account for various cashback sites, matched betting etc
She was rejected for a savings account of some sort for my use of her card.
She insists it was to do with gambling.

I didn't get cash back on my car insurance through TCB.

What sort of bets do they have on the site once registered?

Probably user error. You need to clear cookies if you have wazzed around a bit comparing options before buying the insurance.

Often with banking a minor thing such as incorrect address input e.g 1 letter out of place and it'll fail you.

If she's that adamant I'd get a free search like experian and prove her wrong. Further, you have to have funds to fund gambling sites. Unless you're paying with a credit card, ofc.

Didn't really look, just happy to take the £52.50.

I guess with £5 to bet you might as well bet the lot on the casino (eg cover 4) and hope to make £35 or just smile & lose the lot.

Further, never had a problem with TCB, only one time has CashBack failed and that was due to my error. This deal does seem a little vague on the providers part, but I'm tempted for the crack.

Thanks, yeah looks like no sport on there. Just saw it mention sporting events on TCB, so would have matched the bet to avoid any loss - no matter.

I've had successfully tracked cashback from four different gambling sites, personally, all through TCB. Cashback paid in full, and won the bets. Easy money. I advised friends to do the same, and it worked for them too. We all made about £300 each.

I've been chasing TopCashBack for nearly a year after buying CoOperative car insurance through them. It does make me wonder if they hold out on the larger payments in the hope people give up & forget about it and they cash in.

now why would a gambling firm want to do a credit check ? they aren't giving you credit ! YOU pay THEM !!!

Hmmm

The credit check thing is stupid, but... If you were going to apply for a mortgage in the next few months and your statements had evidence of gambling, would that affect what the bank/building society would lend you? Anyone with any experience of that?

missleading

Maltese operators, such as Smarkets, claim they have to by law keep your details including ID documents on file for a minimum of 5 years after your account has been closed.

So you keep saying but nowhere in the t&c does it state any amount in topcashback so minimum amount applies

Gambling on your bank statement doesn't affect your credit rating but doesn't help if you're trying to obtain a mortgage for some strange reason.

missleading

Topcashback don't set the rules; Mybet does. Read!

Your fault in logic is assuming that TCB have not negotiated a better deal with MyBet.

They state minimum bet through amounts quite readily - when there is one.

Currently the terms on their site simply say that any sign up & deposit will qualify you for the cashback.

Gambling on your bank statements goes down as an expense in the eyes of the mortgage lender. They just add up what youve spent and add it to your monthly expenditure exactly if it was a loan payment and if your lucky enough to win and pay it back into your account they will ignore that.

Smaller lenders may dismiss your application out of hand as you being too risky.

Would be more interested if it were quidco. tcb still promote voda business sims which never track and never respond to enquiries.

Also as others say this does not affect credit file but some mortgage lenders do down mark gambling transactions on bank statements.

Tempted but prefer Quidco to TCB. TCB never paid out on cash back on a Thomas Cook holiday even though everything went through okay. In the end I gave up and stopped using them.

This won't appear on your bank statement unless you pay by BACS.

Interesting comments about TCB not paying out on the larger amounts!....so it wasn't just me then!!

What's the betting (!) that as loads of peeps sign up for this, TCB will change the cashback amount!

TCB....bordering on the fraudulent......
