Lol, I see you critised me yet not the person 2 spots above me..just because I have posted no deal myself? All I said is it wasn't free, even the MSE descirption begins with 'Free', not Free, and there is an inconsistency between £6ish and £7.

Get off ya high horse. You don't need to have posted a deal to have an opinion on this site. This is the internet.

I got one in Tesco for £1 but in Sainsburys they were £2 or more. Good promo though.

Cold, the word free shouldn't be in the title or description as it requires spend.

Unless you have good savings earning 1.5% it'd be in most people's interest to join the lite account, once the fee goes up or the cashback rates are lowered I will leave

I applied to change over from the Santander 123 Account to the Santander Lite 123 Account yesterday, and today I got an email through saying it had been done. I was only making about 97 p a month interest on the full account, so now realise that I'll be a bit better off having the Lite Account - probably about £6 a month (after the £1 monthly fee has been taken out) back from my utility bills, whereas before I was only making about £1.80 (after the £5 monthly fee had been taken out). Thank you for this post, as I wouldn't have know about the Lite Account otherwise.

I pay £5 a month to use my account and after getting money back for my utilities, only make a profit of around £1.80 a month. I haven't looked into the percentages for money back on utilities yet, but if it is the same, I might see if I can change over to the Lite account.

Cashback levels exactly the same.

Generally if you keep an average balance of less than £3k in your 123 account you're better off on a lite.

Haha same here...

Got my £60 Quidco payable today. So it almost makes this deal free.

Hello fellow HKUD:

took up the MSE offer last year and want to avail it this yr when my contract is up in my wife's name:

1) I will use my wife's details but since we have same surname and address will it be an issue? Any tips anyone used?
2) So in sequence I am guessing I get the Sky deal first using my wife's details and give notice to cancel. Can someone kind elaborate please? For example if I was given an activation date for new deal May 1,2017 when should I tell Sky I want to cancel?

Thanks in advance

All went swimmingly, got £66 TCB on last Sky deal from Dec + £75 account credit back in cash for my old Sky account early £0 termination = Broadband for £0 and paid £77 for Sky BB for the year Well worth a few weeks on mobile data between deactivation & reactivation

Forget about it..Virgin is a joke...I signed with them on 08 March and still no service yet. Two visits by installation teams and still could not install and I have to wait for a third visit in two weeks. I live only 5 miles form Birmingham city centre and my next door neighbour has got virgin line. The ri customer service is complete waste of time.

I am obese and I have a Fitbit and I have run 3 half marathons. I think a lot of people are missing the point:

Someone else's life is none of your damned business, unless someone asks you for your opinion keep it to yourself. Don't pretend you care about someone's health when you don't, you care about the sound of your voice and shaming them.

I imagine a lot of people have opinions about you, your kids, your home, where your from, what you buy and how you conduct yourself but they show the courtesy of not telling everyone because no one cares anyway.

Original Poster

I think people are missing the point here.... However big or small you are it's about "motivation". However much you earn its "progress". However much I walk/run/skip I am active. I am also setting a good example for my kids and others. I am reducing my health risks and when I've spent ten days or a hundred years earning my fiver, I'm going to be in the shop buying my dress size smaller outfit and saying I EARNED it! If you are over weight then more reason to get moving. Negative thinking is what got you there on the first place #rant over

Anyone know if there's a way you can just use the accumulated steps per … Anyone know if there's a way you can just use the accumulated steps per day that the iPhone health app automatically tracks? If the power hungry app rinses your battery, and you don't have a fitbit (I don't quite see the point in them for me, as I only do a metric **** tonne of walking rather than being a gym bunny or such), it would be nice to benefit from all this fresh air without losing battery charge. Tbf, I have a £10 emergency charge bank that goes with me on walks anyways, but if the app drains battery that badly, I don't think it would have the juice to help.As for all those "morbidly obese" people out there, this clearly isn't the deal for you, so why the need to comment so negatively about simple exercise requirements? 3 miles is really not that much of a walk at all. Really. In the waking hours, say you sleep for 8 hours, you have 16 hours left of the day to move/shuffle around. It all mounts up! 3 miles isn't that far man. It's 1 and a half miles down the road, and the rest to get you back. Subtract your daily movements around the house, all you likely need to do is walk to the shops and back. Even morbidly obese people shop. The other month my Grandad was talking about how much he used to love walking, and he used to walk all over the place. He can't so much now, but still tries to as much as he can. He used to old adage "Use it or lose it". It rung true, and got me back outside. Claim your life back and walk down the road and back for no reason at all. Do that a few times and you can start to lose the "morbidly" part of your obesity. Only you can help yourself.

Well said! X

£250k would maybe get me a 2 bedroom new build house, with thin walls and an open plan bathroom kitchen area. And maybe a parking space. However, 75% of £250k is £187.5, so assuming 4.5 times salary that's over £40k a year to get the mortgage approved. By the time they're earning that, half the first time buyers going for this won't live long enough to finish the 30 year term!

But it's the best option we've got it seems.
