Don't know why the post title has messed up like that!

2 for £4.00**

Are these the small (200ml?) bottles?

I remember seeing similar syrups in Lidl and/or Aldi which were really good value. I've not tried them, but someone on here can probably tell us what they're like.

Yes and the Lidl ones have not been available for ages. Aldi don't have them anymore either. Monin is the pro one used at Starbucks etc and is expensive. I make do with Lidl usually but they just don't seem to be doing it anymore.

two brands in lidl belmont which has been phased out and deluxe (which seems they're lidls luxury branding). i haven't bought the syrups in a while since giving up sugar in my coffee but worth a look next time you're in. Also Monin use alcohol in most of their products to carry the flavouring in the syrup. to those on the Halal/teetotal diets should avoid them. Some of them aren't suitable for vegans. Most flavours listed ive never seen but they exist.

The only Monin syrups not suitable with vegan diet are the following:

Honey
honeycomb
Chaï tea
cotton candy
bubble gum
white peach

Monin alcohol free syrups are the following:
Agave
Almond
Anise
Apple pie

Well only the 4 I listed are in this offer so I don't know about all that but it looks like most of them in that case but not a problem for me personally.
Lidl have not had ANY coffee syrup for weeks and weeks in several different branches. None. Nada.:(

I love the Monin syrups and have tried DaVinci and Sweetbird also. Afraid can't compare to Aldi's offering as we don't have Aldi in N.Ireland. This is a good store bought price for these and if you are ever stuck you normally get them for around £10-£11 for 1 L bottle on Amazon and sometimes strangely they pop up in TKMaxx's. Fortunately part of the company I work for has a foodservice division so get to buy at cost price. I have seen around 1/3 of the above list that our foodservice division stock also used by bakery industry, cocktail making and for Milkshakes etc. This is the brand used by Costa Coffee and most other independents, Starbucks Syrup is made by Fontana.
P.S Monin do sugar free also.

Weird. Must be local stock differences. I've been checking practically daily for weeks and absolutely none around here.

Ive got the lidl ones and clueless what to do with them but thanks for the alcohol content info, didn't know that but don't go to Starbucks anyway, usually costa

Put a little in your cup with your beverage. Coffee shops normally put the syrup in first but I don't think it really matters. You don't need to put much in. Think less is more, and add a little more next time if it wasn't enough.

Only problem with this deal is sugar free ones aren't available. I've bought sweet bird sugar free hazelnut 1l from Amazon, and found it tastes strongly of sweeteners, and I'm not normally one to complain about them.

I think Lidl do this kind of thing closer to Christmas.

Love Monin syrups - try the maple spice one. The white chocolate one is great for mochas. The 1 litre ones from coffee shop suppliers (who are fine with consumer sales) are usually less than £8 so cheaper per ml than this, although you'll need to order a few for free delivery.

If you're after sugar free ones look out for "skinny syrups" in tkmaxx - they are always £3.99 for 1 litre. Unfortunately do have that sugar free taste, but still nice for a guilt free coffee!

I work in Costa and we use these all the time they are lovely I love a caramel latte!

love these syrups, but I tend to buy the bigger bottles from the likes of A1Coffee. Roasted Hazelnut is great in coffee - gives it the aroma and subtle taste of nutella :P Using some White Chocolate + hazelnut for a milkshake is great too

Wow! Thanks for the tip. Just had a look at that site. Great range and prices. Can I really justify spending 50.00 just on coffee related stuff though? Hmmmm.....oO

Yup. About 2 teaspoons is right ( instead of sugar). Be warned though once you get into these it becomes an addiction.

Would you say there was much noticeable difference between Monin and the others you mention? I'm wondering about natural flavours vs synthetic. I had the Lidl one before this ( I'm a Hazelnut fan) and the Monin is just so much nicer.

I'm not a fan of the sweetbird stuff though only tried a couple of out of the ordinary flavours - never tried DaVinci. My last order, I did order at the A1 shop mentioned earlier I did order a couple of the same flavour in both Routin and Monin, which I generally prefer, most notably the Gingerbread one. The monin has a more natural smell and more subtle flavour. The Routin one tasted very sweet but didn't seem as naturally nice as the monin one IMO. I prefer the Routin bottles over the Monin though.

This time was my first time trying the Roasted Hazelnut (Monin) however....as normally get regular Hazelnut.....it's very very nice, much nicer than hazelnut I reckon

Do not recommend get the 1litre Monin bottles however, as they're plastic, go for 70cl which are glass....use the bottles for making skittle vodka or whatever after

so im assuming the syrup just changes the flavour of the beverage. never knew about these so will have to watch out for them to try.

Sweetbird brand tasted very synthetic and with the toffenut variety I had to use almost double the amount of pumps to acquire the same taste. DaVinci tasted abit synthetic and again not very strong requiring more pumps. Like the other poster have tried the "Roasted Hazelnut" over the Hazelnut and found it to taste nuttier. I use a pump in my bottles so each measure is kinda the same and just found in general you need less of the Monin to be able to taste the flavours. The gingerbread is lovely, Irish Cream is quite nice, tastes alot like a Bailey's coffee without the alcohol, same with the "Irish" flavour more or less an Irish coffee without the whiskey.

Watch out also anyone using a pump dispenser as you need a different one for the glass and plastic bottles due to the tops being different.
