in the ingredients list this one doesn't have that particular e-number

Mass produced grenadine is simply sugar syrup with added colouring. I don't think any of it has seen any pomegranite which is what grenadine is, or should be.

Just heat 1 cup of Pom with 1 cup of sugar until the sugar dissolves, et voila. Proper grenadine.

This exact item is £4.07 in Waitrose. I know as I bought my wife one as a treat 1 hour ago.
