It's back at 21 quid. Well worth it in my opinion.

Monkey Shoulder uses only malt Scotch whisky from three of Speyside's finest distilleries. This triple malt is catching the attention of the country's leading bartenders for its smooth and rich qualities, making it ideal for mixing as well as drinking in the more traditional way. As Charlotte Voisey, of London's Apartment 195 explains, 'the atractive name and bottle spark curiosity, and once explained, bring a smile to your face.'

Rooted in malt whisky lore, Monkey Shoulder is inspired by and named in honour of the malt men at William Grant, who are among the few still to turn the malting barley by hand using a sheil (wooden shovel). Monkey Shoulder was a nickname given to a temporary injury some malt men occasionaly suffered many years ago as a result of repeatedly bending over whilst turning the malt. Thankfully, working practices have now changed and the condition no longer exists.

Crafted in small batches of just 27 casks, Monkey Shoulder's smooth and and rounded taste has accents of malty sweetness, vanilla, marmalade and barley sugar. The iconic bottle design, complete with three brass monkeys - each representing one of the constituent single malts - on the bottle's shoulder, is sure to attract confident, liberal minded people with discerning taste and ensures it's not one to hide away in the drinks cabinet!

Damn. I'm trying to get the stock down! Don't have any left of this though so just have to make a bit of space for a few. Even the missus loves this!

Yes it's a great all rounder. I pulled the trigger on some GOT deals and still have some of this so I can't really justify it.
Ordered, thanks OP
Finally!! Ordered this back in February and have only now come back in stock!
Quite similar IMHO to Aldi Highland Select which is £15.

Yeah I picked up a bottle of HS this week and they are VERY similar! But I'm basing that on previous experience of MS rather than a side-by-side comparison.

I was whelmed by the flavour of this blend. It’s okay... nothing more. Great price though, have some heat!

They keep making more whisky. It's our duty to drink it. We don't want to let the side down do we? Right, are we o.k about it now lol. What's a GOT deal anyway?

Lol. Sorry, Game Of Thrones deals- the limited edition bottling so called. There's a few really good offers on loch fyne whisky.
Goes down too well this stuff
I was rather disappointed by this after reading lots of great reviews. It's just a bit bland for my tastes, especially when it's competing with entry level single malts at this price. Good for mixing though.
How would this fare against Bourbon, specifically Woodford Reserve?

I had Woodford reserve recently. It's higher strength and being bourbon has that strong oak flavour. I would say this is slightly better if you prefer scotch and has some great Speyside flavours.

I see where you're coming from but I think it's as good as anything near its price range. You could pay 30 for a far superior single malt, however this is only 21 quid.
