Saw this instore at Game yesterday and thought it might be a good way of getting my 8yr old to want to play a board game rather than the Wii! Not opened the box but looks to be a lovely set, lots of Mario stuff, nice box. Collect characters from various Nintendo games, metal game pieces, nice bright board.

Was price marked instore (Meadowhall) at £29.99 reduced to £24.99. Still showing at £29.99 on their website, but even that isn't bad as they're being flogged for £40+ on eBay and Amazon.

Not expecting massive heat as its not a huge saving but might help someone struggling for a Mario related present for the kids (or adults!).

That is awesome!
Looks fab, but would be better if it were as £20+ for a board game is steep!
Not a collector's edition, its just Nintendo monopoly.
Would love to buy this but already have so many versions of monopoly that i dont play. But looks like a good deal for Nintendo fans. Heat
I really want this...but £25 I cant really justify getting it.
Bargain!
I had a quick look at one of these the other day and it's pretty unimaginitive. I expected bright Nintendo themes with some obscure videogame references and perhaps more colourful locations. I'm sorry to say that this looked more like a cheap cash-in than anything to rival, say, the Star Wars monopoly set.
I saw this Saturday, I really want it! and it looks really cool. But it's hardly a bargain.

Too many versions, I really want the Metallica version.

Yes, Metallica have done a Monopoly game.
Disappointing that you buy characters, and not locations on this - they wouldn't have been hard. Mushroom Kingdom, Hyrule, Zebes, etc. Does seem like little effort or thought has gone into this.

Good observation. Absolutely missed opportunity.
SUPERB!!
Thats different to my nintendo monolopy that I bought about 7 years ago, the counters are different. I wonder why thry changed it for the uk?
@Error440
This is not the same as the old red box (I have both editions, I'm a huge Nintendo fan), it's just updated with new counters.
Arrr!! How have I not heard of this??! Must... Buy... Now!!!
Thanks! Exactly what I was looking for.

I might get it, lets see if santa brings me any game points or vouchers

Oh, I wasn't expecting this to attract much attention or heat, I only posted because I thought it might help someone searching for Mario merchandise! Cheers guys

As some people have said, its probably fairly basic, and geared more to kids than serious collectors ('collectors edition' is probably meant in a fairly loose sense! A bit like 'limited edition' crisps!) but it looks really good for my intended purpose, and if it had loads of less obvious features it probably wouldn't appeal to kids as much.

I would say that I'm more of a serious collector of Nintendo merchandise, and I can say that I'm never opening my two Nintendo editions of Monopoly.
