Monopoly Electronic Banking - Cards Not Cash! @ Tesco Instore £6.24

Found 13th Sep 2011
Picked up instore from Tesco's in New Oscott, Birmingham for a great bargain.

We've only just brought the normal Monopoly with cash notes last year but found it a real pain to play with the paper thin cash notes.

Amazon / play are selling for around £24

But how can you hide the monies then whip it out when your mates think
they have you beat
Thats true! - No more cheating (_;)
Is this the one where when you pass go you collect £200 but then have to give it back to the bank to keep them in business?
Did you really find "it a real pain to play with the paper thin cash notes?" That's weird. How do you cope with real money?
I got this a few years ago and only played it once, taking away the notes was a horrible decision imo. As there is only one bankers card swiper transactions can take ages. For example when you get a community card like its your birthday where everyone has to pay £10 or whatever it was, you have to get everyones card, put it in separately one after the other, each transaction taking about 10 seconds + in total. It really longs out the process of playing Monopoly.
Not monopoly without the notes! How else to slap your bankrupt mates in the face with a wad of 500's?
Excellent, definitely picking this tomorrow.
I wonder whether shops will accept monopoly bank cards? I've never had any luck with monopoly money

You can't exactly 'wap your wad on the counter' with a silly electronic banking?
I have this one. It's not worth it.

It takes far too long to pass the cards and swipe them, put in the amounts etc etc. It's much better with the old notes.

And you CAN cheat with this too
Picked a couple thanks OP although staff were also astounded how cheap it was so may snap these up too.

1 remaining at slough.
thanks
Sounds like it's prolonging the game .... like it wasnt long enough before lol.
Still a VERY good price so may snap 1 up for the kids.
Thanks OP, heat added.
Paper..thin..cash..notes.. like real money? How is it trouble?
How many times.....a single Tesco store is called "TESCO" not "Tesco's" or "Tescos". Just like Mothercare isn't known as "Mothercares" or Oxfam known as "Oxfams".

HOT for the deal though
yes , nice find !
buckfast in brum a single tesco store is Tescos - thats how them speak

I agree. My sister brought this around last xmas to play and it was no fun at all. Dishing out the money is half of the fun.

So....I am the only one who finds Monopoly, however its played, dull as ditchwater???;)
I've just woke up, Yawnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn......... I read this as "Monopoly electric blanket" . It sounded quite interesting at first!
Ruined the game with the introduction of the card, probably why it's going off cheap. They should stop trying to modernise it and stick to bringing out special versions of the old game as they sell. Disney Monopoly, County Monopoly etc. The one with the DVD was awful too! I think I have 6 versions of monopoly and the only ones that are ever used are original or Disney!

If you are going to get all grammatical about this, it is not the point that a singular Tesco is called Tesco, not Tescos - multiple "Tescos" stores are also "Tesco", and the group is not "Tescos" either. Same for Matalans, WH Smiths, Marks and Spencers, the old Woolworths, Maplins but not Debenhams

Ultimately though, who cares

I think what you are after is Anti-Monopoly (_;)

Thinking about it - maybe the electronic banking might take some of the fun out of playing; but I still cant stand the tracing paper thin notes they do now.

Anyone know where we can get 'deluxe' thicker replacement monopoly money?

You need to get out more, you should get down to your local Tesco's
Heat for the price. Only thing putting me off is that no one here who had actually played card version and said anything positive about it and I feel like there is reason for it. But still tempted on buying.

I hate to upset you, as this is evidently a subject you've become repeatedly irritated by, but you are incorrect.

Tesco is the company. The store is owned by Tesco. A single store is not "Tesco".

Saying "I'm going to Tesco's", or refering to the store as "Tesco's" is perfectly correct. It's a possessive noun thing.
Is this available on Tescos.com?
It's Tesco's in Liverpool. Never the Tesco, or a Tesco.

However, we bizarrely insist on calling Asda 'The Asda' not matter which branch we're referring to!
do you need to pass a credit check to play???
One of the good things about the original Monopoly is that kids get to do some maths and learnt to count money...which this version takes away. so hot deal but bad concept

But it teaches them to use fantastical electronical counting devices (i.e. calculators), which they're more likely to use in business than proper cash, unless their career goal is to be an 80s oil magnate.

Get with the times you lilly-livered, gun-toting, miss-america-watching grandad! (looks at his pic...feels his pain).
