Over 1m, a quid one from the quid stores will be more than enough! As long as they're a v1.4 of course. (Which they tend to say on the back depending on which one they're pushing that week)

I guess this is not for everyone

Is it 1.4?

Cable for Life®

We back up Ultra HD two ways. Like all Monster Cable®, Ultra HD™ 4K comes with a lifetime warranty. If it breaks we replace it. In addition, we include our Cable For Life® guarantee. Which means technology will never outpace your Monster advanced 1000EX ultra-high speed HDTV HDMI cable. This new Monster Advanced HDMI 1000HD Ultra-High Speed Cable offers the best in high definition for your home theatre set up. It brings you the ultimate picture and sound for HDTVs, Blu-Ray players, AV receivers, game consoles and other HD sources. 24carat Gold connectors deliver the sharpest video, deepest colour and smoothest picture.

So I am pretty sure it'll be 1.4

Bought a couple, needed some anyway. If they aren't 1.4 I'll use them upstairs and keep on looking. Pretty sure it's my old cables that are causing problems between PC and 4k TV.

The £1 cables have very physically weak plugs that tend to bend without much provocation. I now prefer throwing £2ish at CPC for something more robust, though you could argue the cheap ones are sacrificing themselves to protect your HDMI sockets!

Strange, I've never had that problem, and they're all I use. Though, I do plug stuff in and leave them alone. If any switching is needed, I use a HDMI auto switch. I must have about 10 or so in use. What with TV gadgets and consoles around the house.

I've just tried bending one that I still had as an extra. You must be a lot stronger than me, because I've just pressed one end with both of my thumbs until they went funny colours and back to white and I couldn't bend the metal plug part away from the plastic surround. I'm not saying I'm Geoff Capes, but I'm not a 9st weakling either.

I've broke a few HDMI cables, and they were not the cheapest ones either but the braided type that were popular a few years back.

Most of my cables are just the ones supplied with consoles, new TV etc, but in this case, just for the fun of it I have bought one, because why not, heh.

Hmmm, so does that mean they will replace your cable when HDMI 2.0 is commonplace? If so, then this is a good deal. If not, it's too much for a 1m cable, maybe 2m would be ok.

Obviously £1 cables aren't going to be as well built as this, but for £2-3 you can get decent ones

I was looking at this but then I saw HDMI KING ones on Amazon for cheaper and longer wires with great reviews. Any good? Because I need some.

They're variable quality, got some that could be bent by hand but it's what happens if the cable gets pulled while connected and applies leverage to the plug that does the damage. Bent a couple surprisingly easily, before noticing it was happening, they still work but not reliably as they wobble in the socket.

Less careless folk will do OK with £1 cables and £5 remains too much for 1m

top quality cable well worth the money

Practically, there won't so any more than the £1 store ones, despite all the fancy terminology and impressive images.

Looks like a misprice as they are an even bigger bargain of £49.98 now oO

I'm not sure.

My order is still processing!

And it just shipped, so, woo! If that was a mis-price, they honoured it, maybe because not many people still bought it!
