Haven't seen this posted elsewhere and seems like a great deal for those who require one. Its a composite/s-video A/V Cable of the highest quality.

Says RRP is £62.99 but doubt anyone has ever paid that much for it.

The jury is still out on whether this is just for XBox or Xbox 360. Would like confirmation of another HUKD'er if that is possible. Thanks.

Specifications
* A/V Hookup of Gaming Console to TVs and A/V Receivers with Composite and S-Video Connections
* All-in-one cable design with both composite and S-video connections with RCA stereo audio

Cold voters please give me a reason why, thanks.

The picture is a PS2 cable.. so i assume its the wrong picture. Monster colour code all their gaming cables, and that blue is for the PS2 (as BT shop confirms.. shop.bt.com/pro…4CK).

I would assume is an original xbox cable, then.. probably. but who knows :P

If its for the xbox then is there any reason why it couldn't be used for the Xbox 360?

Its an original xbox cable. Its a really ugly green colour, and it won't work with the 360, because they're completely different connections.

Good enough cable though. I had the same one a few years back. Paid about the same for it tho.

And seriously, next gen had BETTER just have an hdmi option all round. I'm sick of proprietary ends. It makes things waaay too expensive for the end user. I expect most people are quite happy at the moment with their xboxes and ps3's where its just hdmi, and no problem.

What an optimistic RRP they have put on it then if you paid the same for it a few years back. Well its here for anyone needing one.

That was its rrp...

monster cables have ALWAYS been a ripoff. It was only about 2 years ago I got it though, so it wasn't really in demand (xbox was dead and gone really).

Seriously. People believe all that utter gumf, and it really gnaws at me. That cable was an awkward fit, and that material coating round it made it flail everywhere. My xcm multi cable V3 I have now for all my standard def consoles has a much better original xbox end

Still, at 7.99, this is a hot deal.

u both r genius wish i culd have same knowlede abot these stuff

Monster cable is one of the worst companies of all time.
' Specially wound, high-purity copper stranding for greater clarity and wider dynamics '

This load of marketing nonsense warrants a cold vote on its own. Wider dynamics lol, throw in outer space gamma rays while you're at it.

If anyone finds a cheap composite cable for the gamecube let me know!

ebay should be the cheapest

Huh

I'm sure when I checked a few months ago they were stupidly expensive (even on ebay) - somewhere around £40 iirc. Just picked one up for less than £2 delivered (apparently from Hong Kong, which baffles me).

Can't go wrong.

EDIT: I must have been thinking of compnent!

Yes, I think ebay are the cheapest.

Do you mean component cable? The gamecube comes with a composite cable as standard, earlier revisions of the gamecube have the digital AV that enables the use of component, however these leads were only released in Asia and North America and fetch good money on ebay, be prepared to spend £25 plus on one.

Cannot see what all the fuss is about with this cable here, if its composite then its a replacement stock cable all last gen consoles came with composite cables, PS2. Gamecube, Xbox 1 and Dreamcast...are people getting their composite muddled with their component?

In Order of Quality :

HDMI (Digital connector, carries Both Video and Audio signals)
DVI (Digital connector, carries Video signal only, 2 Audio RCA Red White to provide audio)
Component Analogue RGB (3 Video RCA Cables Red Green Blue, and 2 Audio RCA Red White)
RGB Scart (21 Pin Block Connector, carries RGB Video and Audio signals)
S Video (Rounded small DIN Type connector, 2 Audio RCA Red White)
Composite/Composite with Scart block adaptor *None RGB* (1 Video RCA cable Yellow, 2 Audio RCA Red White)

Have voted this cold, providing you have your Xbox 1 modded (UK revision Xbox 1 cannot output component as standard) , you can pick up a Component lead for similar price on Ebay that would have a FAR better image quality than a Composite lead (at least 480p, a few games are even 780p) The Xbox comes as standard with a component lead with scart block adaptor providing worse image quality than replacing that cable with a RGB Scart. Why anyone would want to replace it with this cable is beyond me, it would do the same job, albeit maybe slightly better shielded, the original Xbox composite cable was manufactured to a decent standard despite its low output on the image quality hierachy.

And to think this is getting over 100 degrees heat, ridiculous! Do your Xbox 1s a favour, I think most people have at least a tv with a scart input these days, get at least an RGB scart lead for your Xbox instead, and if your Xbox is modded and you have an LCD/CRT with component input, get that for progressive scan modes.

and / or
Component Analogue YPbPr (3 Video YPbPr Cables Red Green Blue, and 2 Audio RCA Red White)
- its an important difference as RGB and YPbPr aren't interchangeable and can require different cables, even if using the same source (eg PS2)

It's not in stock or available to buy now anyway. At least I cant see a buy option anywhere.

Even if you could, unless you need S-Video, anyone with an Xbox already has a decent quality composite lead most likely sitting in the box as they instead have bought either a component lead or at the very least an RGB scart lead for their Xbox instead.

I'd swear this read component last night...

Composite are the standard crappy wires that are of no use to anybody.

Precisely why I cannot understand this thread getting over 100 degrees of heat when I originally viewed it! I could understand if it was originally listed as Component, but seriously I have two Xbox 1s both with the composite leads still sat in the box, one is connected via RGB scart, the other via official Xbox AV Component cable with optical out....now those are expensive now!

Like I said I got the xcm v3 component lead. It does the trick nicely

Yeah, the ms cables were expensive. Thats why I bought the monster lead. I must've been sleepy last night, because I didn't even read the deal properly. You can't even buy it! it's an ld product taken off play years ago no doubt

should've been so cold even seeing the deal made me shiver.
