Monster Ripper 500ml cans at Tesco only 34p each!

Found 24th Apr 2013
Please bear with me as this is the first deal I have ever put on here! Just went into my local tesco metro (in southsea, portsmouth) and they seem to be getting rid of the Monster Ripper cans (yellow ones) They are the normal size ones (500ml) and are 34p each! Bargain as when they are on offer they are normally £1! The other monster cans were all the normal price though so is just the Ripper one! I have no idea if this is a national offer or just in this store but thought i would share! Will try and upload a pic of my receipt later on!

Did it have little yellow stickers on each can by any chance? Or was it labeled the shelf for 34p?

ill have to try that, whenever i go to wetherspoons i have the cocktail with monster ripper in it, cannot for the life of me remember its name though!

It's not a national deal!

fair enough, said i wasnt sure whether it was national or not, judt reported what i saw

Not national deal, just got back from Tesco, was down the drinks isle. Word to the wise. Monster is the worst energy drink for you. Lets say, you drink one every day for 7 years. You'll pay in tears. Well NHS will pay with state money, to salvage whatever is left of your kidneys. I need perk in a can too once in a while, but avoid monster. Bit of a shame i leant the facts, since their rehab drink is tasty.

Care to say why? I thought all these things we're basically as much sugar and caffeine they could get in a can but didn't know any we're any worse than the other. I'm quite partial to the two monster juiced varieties myself - ideal at 3am in the middle of a boring nightshift.

How exactly is Monster worse than any other brands then?

Not national. Went to Tesco Sidcup and it's £1.39 or something like that.

Tesco at Sidcup is a complete rip off. Been saving so much money since I switched to ASDA at Bexleyheath

Excellent price! I'm trying to lay off them atm. They certainly make morning at work more interesting.

All energy drinks are bad for you, not just monster. There's 200 calories per can, mainly sugar. Followed by a shed load of caffeine and taurine and ginsing/gingko. Basically it's diabetes, hypertension and internal bleeding risks in a can. I do like them though :-)

Isnt Tesco at Sidcup the same a Tesco everywhere? I dont think the Sidcup Tesco charge more than any other.

I have to agree that i think Asda is cheaper in the whole though. But i live in Sidcup so not really going to travel to Bexleyheath/Swanley just to save a few pounds.

I've spent the past 10mins trying to find the article for you which details the results from the experiments conducted in a lab. This was done under a scope, not on human subjects. I can't find it. But i did come across few sources suggesting Monster was the worst. However, These sources did not provide relevant evidence or link the evidence to support their statement.

By all means, If you healthy and not over doing the energy drinks then your not at risk/I think i remember it as needing 7pints of water to flush your kidneys of the 500ml can of monster. That's a lot of water just to clear the trace of something that could progressively lead to Kidney failure. They found Red Bull sugar free to have the least effects. This test was done on a same equal measure of the drinks. Incase you were thinking of course red bull sugar free is the best for you, the can is smaller so less to drink and damage you.

There was a point at university where i found myself going to the shop every morning to perk myself up with a can.
Soon quit that out, and later found out that if i did continue at the same rate for a much longer period of time then the effects would be damming.

It's easy to think that it's harmless, since it is a readily available soft drink for any age.
Kids need to be aware of the consequences of this stuff. Monster have their marketing down perfectly, with the extreme sports image. Not fair to section out Monster though, all energy drinks are bad for you. Just monster is the worst for you.

Thnx just picked up 50 the kiddies.

looked for these today, nothing in coventry

ah brill thanks, its been driving me insane! was even considering going to wetherspoons just to have a cheeky drink!!

probably has horse meat in it

Drinking a Can of Relentless now.... Now I wish I had Monster Ripper

People saying Monster is the worst have obviously never tried Lidl's own brand energy drink. 2 of them will leave you in a diabetic coma.

ooh Emerge... thats the worst......

only thing u can 'Emerge' from after that is the toilet after wretching.

Just nipped across Tesco to check, no cans of Monster but Mountain Dew was on half price at 57p a bottle.

Not nationwide, but it's a good price anyway.

I drink the sugar free relentless, 3 or 4 cans a day at work, but last year around Christmas I switched to monster as it had a higher caffeine content and I was doing slightly more hours at work, I don't smoke, I don't do drugs and I don't drink alcohol, but 2 days after Christmas I suffered a heart attack, doctor pit it down to the monster drinks, back on my feet now and back to relentless libertus sugar free and never felt better.

ripper is bad taste no wonder cheap
