thanks anyway for letting me know kind of new so i don't know all the rules and regulations yet

these are the headphones that came bundled for free with the HTC Sensation xe mobile nearly three years ago? if so, good headphones, but have been this price on eBay for ages.

If there anything like the newest version (that I own) then this is an amazing price. Sound is good and obviously you look cool with the name

No, those were iBeats if I remember correctly, the older models. I think URBEATS came out around last year. To be honest, I had no idea they were this cheap, a steal at this price.

EDIT: After a closer look at the pictures on the site, you've got a point.

Wait a second, these actually look like the iBeats which were released back in 2010? The URBEATS earphones look like this according to the Beats by Dre site: http://speedcap.net/sharing/files/e3/f4/e3f418fb63f07056f5b7d76ddcad121d.png

£80 on most sites.

Either I'm horribly wrong, or something fishy is going on here.

The urBeats originally came out with the Sensation XE and Sensation XL phones in 2011. This was when Beats were still manufactured by Monster Cable.

The original urBeats were a different version of the iBeats made specifically for HTC phones and they aren't in production anymore. Beats later re-released the urBeats with a new design after they split with Monster which is the picture you have posted, they also discontinued the iBeats model.

That's why these original urBeats are so cheap now, on sites like eBay or the OP. Most likely they're pulled from Sensation XE or XL bundles/boxes.

They looked like this:

Or some came with the urBeats packaged separately:

I know this from owning both the XE, XL and buying quite a few products from Monster in the past. These are almost guaranteed to be genuine.

So these are old stock which were still made by monster back then. Are these worth £30? Or beats not by monster are better?

Urbeats have flat anti-tangle cable, i got a set right here.. The ones in the picture look fake with standard thin cable

As I mentioned in my post that's because you have the newer post-Monster model. These ones are a discontinued model from 2011 and were exclusive to HTC phones. The iBeats also had the same thin cable.

I think £30 is a great price for these. I own both the old and new models and they sound extremely similar. The difference really is negligible. Unless you prefer the design of the newer Beats or really want the flat cable (which is admittedly nicer), I would say just buy these instead.

Ah that makes sense, I have a pair that look exactly like those black ones but have iBeats written all over them that's why I was confused, the new UrBeats look great.

sorry my bad

Are these likely to be real for that price? There are ridiculous amounts of fake Beats products out its crazy, beware when buying on eBay people!

I bought a pair of these from handtec last year, although the price was £25 then. The sound was impressive, very bassy.. my only complaint was they fall out your ear quite a bit. iBeats or UrBeats can't remember but definitely genuine Beats by Dre that's for sure. Made by Monster also.

The ones made by monster are 10x better quality wise, why beats split with them I don't know, so glad I got my Pros before they split

Dr Dre beats get 100+ heat

Cheapest delivery is £2.40, guess that should be added to the title? Heat added for post anyway, £32.87 seems to be the cheapest delivered.

Too mainstream for my liking.

Fashion >> Performance don't you know...

Just for your info, if anyone is actually concerned about performance, these are graded as Don't Buy by Which.

Pros: Good remote, light

Cons: Poor sound quality, can be quite uncomfortable

had a pair of ibeats and later on replaced them with urbeats (lost my ibeats but didn't want to spend lots of money on another pair.

ibeats were def better, but urbeats were decent for the money. Not sure why people say they can fall out easily, I found the opposite to be true. I think £30 is about the right price for them to be fair

That made me lol, the guy just looks over, fixes his tie and sits down!!

Meanwhile the womens head has just been flattened and is lying unconcious! Pahahaha, it shouldnt really be funny!

I wouldn't normally give heat for these but i suppose this is a reasonable price for what you are getting, probably still better headphones for the price though

The whole background story as to why Dre Beats and Monster split - interesting read.
Looks like Monster lost out big time:

They could make them cheaper without Monster. These are not terrible earphones and £30 is a good price but to me someone realised they would sell just as many sets of lower quality beats away from Monster as if they maintained the Monster standard. It's no secret that beats are not bought by audiophiles and that there are better, far better, earphones and headphones in the same price range

Do these work for the iPhone 5? Volume up and down?
Anyone have these for the iPhone to confirm?
I know its says:
For Apple iPhone/iPod only the play/pause button are enabled. To skip track, double tap play/pause button. Forward and Rewind button's are not enabled for the iPhone/iPod.

How is that relevant to sound quality? We are not talking about arthouse movies here.
