Been looking for a rear bike carrier for a long time and had earmarked this Mont Blanc model when it was a great deal more expensive than this.

Now it's come down to £49.99 I've gone for it. Big saving on the RRP.

Thanks, op

Good price, but remember you may also need a lighting board

what's a lighting board?

Lighting board is a set of lights and number plate when those on your car are obscured. Coppers like to pull people over for this. But in that case you really need a tow bar electrics installed at which point you'll be wanting a tow bar mounted carrier anyway.

Yeah get a board, so when you crash into my car in you white BMW/Audi, then drive off, I can take your plate and report you.

Been this price ay Argos for a while.

And worth checking montblanc website to see if it'll fit on your car, been after something like this for a while but it unfortunately won't fit mine

Good tip - but I cant seem to find the CM06 on their site! Any help?

That link takes you straight to the rearsnowden which was formally the CM06, then just click the fits most cars button to pick yours.

I thought the entire point of a high mount carrier is that it leaves the numberplate and lights visible, negating the need for a lighting board?

Depends on the position of the lights and number plate on the car it fits, it may cover them even though its high mount.

Just some feedback -

I had to return my carrier, as I didn't feel it was secure enough on my car (Honda FRV). The item itself looks good, and it looks like it would be very secure on other cars, but unfortunately, mine does not have a bumper for the lower arms to rest on. It seems well made, and easy to set up and pack away (although, once it is on, you cannot open the tailgate... you would have to remove all the bikes, and the carrier if you wanted to get into the boot).

Also, the bikes were high enough not to block my number plate, so that was another good point. I didn't notice the bikes blocking much of my view in the rear-view mirror, either.

A shame, as I was looking forward to using it.
