3.7 out of 5 on Vivino

A complex, rich glass of dark plum and raspberry fruit, with barrel aging giving roasted vanilla flavours. Good aromatic structure with smooth tannins make this a great wine for roast meat and hard cheeses.

A humble red, and my first taste of anything 2016 Bordeaux. Zingy acid, and tank-like tannins. Bold, pure and juicy fruit. Not bad and vgfm....

This wine got better on the 2nd and third glass after decanting for an hour. Lots of jammy plums and initially quite dry with lots of tannin. After a while the tannins became softer and the wine more balanced and certainly smoother to the taste. I then noticed the subtle vanilla spice and maybe even a bit of raspberry. Not bad for £7, a bit dry and leathery to start but ended up being enjoyable

Closest that anyone else has is more expensive... Aldi with Ch. Tour de Pez 2011, Saint Estephe £8
