Monterey Jack 'Welsh Made' Cheese only £3/kg @ Tesco.

They had large 1kg+ blocks behind the glass screens at the deli counter as well as smaller 250g - 500g blocks on the special cheese stand.

Absolute bargain. I bought a whole load of the stuff.

Don't forget that there's a voucher for £1.00 a £4.00 spend on cheese in the new Tesco price drop leaflet. This can also be downloaded and printed off.

So you could get 1.33kg for £3.00 = £2.26 per kilo.

I had no idea about that, cheers.

Why hasn't this got hotter?! It's so cheap!

The 250g packs of Tesco Edam slices also work out at £2.26 per kilo.

These are £1.35 each and 3 for the price of 2. If you buy 3 then you can use the £1.00 voucher as the price before the discount is £4.05. So you get 750g for £1.70 = £2.26 per kilo.

lovely cheese

Any idea if this is a national deal, folks?

How can I print off the £1.00 off voucher?

great for melting, just had it on a baked spud..

One of the better melting cheeses, good for pizzas, burgers and general cooking.

Popping down there later then!

jack cheese is usually very nice

£3 a kilo for cheese is a very good deal.....:)

Good price.

Melted on nachos, pizza, macaroni ... etc ..... it's good.

On it's own as a cheese .... blander than a very bland thing!

Heat, fuelling up the forklift!

Great find thanks, remember you can FREEZE CHEESE

Has anybody else actually got this? Spent ages in my Extra tonight looking for any sign of any type of Monterey Jack cheese - nothing. Never seen it in my tescos anyway, either in the cheese isle or at the deli so sounds like it's store specific. Another tesco wild goose chase!

Sorry, cold.

I know this is in the Warrington and Altrincham stores so its not store specific. Further than that I can't comment.

I find strong mozzarella to be better, but still a good cheese. None in my local mind...

ohhh when is this offer on till?

Is this actually nice, has anyone definitely tried it? Not looked recently but in America a few years ago this was almost the only type of cheese you could buy in supermarkets. I mean not like here where there are 200 different types of cheese. So I used to eat it, reluctantly, but I always found their Monterey Jack to be the most repulsive stuff ever.

Thanks a lot for posting this voucher - has saved me £5 in conjunction with various offers. Could you let me know where you actually got this voucher from cos I can't find it online and would be good to use these every week?

Is this basically American cheddar?

Post #12 of this thread gives the web link for the leaflet with the vouchers.

Post #13 explains how to print it off.

If you want to create a pdf then you just need pdf creator installed on your pc and select this as the printer when you come to print the voucher.

They have loads of the stuff at Bangor Extra North Wales

Does not appear to be online. No results when searching for Monterey Jack.

When I was in America the only cheese you could get was Swiss cheese or spray cheese, Urgh
