"to reduce the risk of corrosion, always rinse off the remains of any food immediately", I dread to think what this "cutlery" is made of that it corrodes when exposed to food....

This is not new. Got a nearly a year ago and regret as the forks bend. I am heavy handed though

Be careful with cheap cutlery, one of the things in this world that you should pay moe for the quality.

Awful shape - not gonna lie, I wish I'd forked out (excuse the pun!) on the slightly more expensive ones...

I bought a stainless steel IKEA cutlery set in 1991. All the forks and spoons are as good as the day I bought them, but the knives began to rust after a few years and eventually I threw them out.
they look very good have a set at my house!

Every single product sold by IKEA is tested to EU and British Standards. All metals are sensitive to acid in food, that's just chemical reactions. Save as your teeth are incredibly hard, yet can be corroded by acidic food. I certainly wouldn't be concerned.
