In the light of a recent deal for a branded teapot at John Lewis which was cheap but IMO was ugly but also didn't have matching cups and saucers. If you are going to have proper tea, then, in my opinion you should have matching tea cups and saucers. Mugs will not do! The big supermarkets and department stores Debehams etc. do have some quite nice teapots but they tend to be quite expensive (£20 or more) and do not have matching tea cups and saucers, or if they do, they are expensive too! There are two, pretty but not expensive and quite stylish in dunelm. First from the Poppy collection £6.88

But also this from the Tea party Collection £8.99

For instance the Tea party collection cup and saucer is only £2.99

None of these are reduced or in a sale, but good value I think, available in store or online or home delivery

Thanks, I actually prefer the tea party set, but it's more expensive.

I wonder if it dribbles tea unless poured at an exact angle like so many teapots do these days?

You mean at exactly the wrong angle? Like all those stainless steel ones always do in the cafes?
Quite possibly, but at least it will look nice doing it

Would have loved this for my mother in law to be. Unfortunately, she lives in Northern Ireland, and we are in England, so the postage would almost double the cost. She's called Poppy, and she loves stuff with Poppies on it. She has a matching mug already.

I think so, I've just had a look at the poppy teapot in the local Dunelm, and I think it really is good. It's not too heavy but is big enough to take at least four cups. My favourite, the tea party teapot is maybe only two cups and not quite as elegant in reality
