Anyone purchased a refurb from Sony before? Are they faulty - repaired, or customer returns / ex-display stock?

Hi martin1372, where did you purchase the 32 inch tv?

It will more than likely be the 32 inch one that is priced at £179. Follow the get deal link and click on the 81-94cm tv section, and its the top one. and using the 15% off Bravia TV's code in the OP, down to £152.

can you please send me the link? I can't find any model with that price
thanks.
This is a pretty good deal for a 40" LED 3D TV:
outlet.sony.co.uk/sho…U.A

Works out at £459 with the discount and the cheapest 'new' product would be around £600 (and about £700 in the Sony Store)

The original was about a blu ray player posted +/- 2 weeks ago, then i noticed them come back in stock a few days ago but they sell out in a few hours.

My TV arrived yesterday - just looks like it was a customer return, not a single scratch on the thing - very chuffed for 50% off!
My tv finally arrived yesterday after being delivered to the wrong address on Monday by DPD
I checked to see if the box had been tampered with but all was well.
Unpacking I noticed it was in pristine condition, only very slight scratches but you had to look very close to see these.

Sadly my tv would not power on, it made a noise and there was a momentary flash on the screen and then the screen went blank leaving the standby light flashing 10 times. I followed instructions from Sony's website to reset and switch off and wait but to no avail.

So, my tv is getting collected and sent back to Sony, I think it's too much hassle to go through this process again, it was enough trouble getting the thing delivered let alone opening it to find its DOA.

It makes you think how much care they actually take refurbishing these tv's, probably only replacing singular components instead of a whole circuit board, or not enough bench testing before passing the product as fixed.

I'm very disappointed as I thought a refurbished tv from Sony would be a good punt, especially for the highly discounted price. Seems like you get what you pay for...
mine looks as brand new, still has foil around the frame, no single scratch, just box was not original, apart of that it spot on, well worth it 356£ for 40''

Yeah I can't get Sky where I live so no need for 3D. Got a KDL40W4000 and although it's great it's time for an upgrade.

thanks for the info.
Given discount codes are not working now
And these codes were working fine last week and ordered one tv(KDL40EX723BU). Unfortunately, Sory cancelled my order as there was no stock.
Shame the codes have now expired - anyone know where they were actually sourced from, as the TV I want is now back in stock?

Seems to be customer return at least for me. Still foil on the stand and frame around screen. Remote looks new. No scratches found anywhere. Missing thing was an original box and manual (they gave some photocopy of manual)

Cheers, I was actually referring to the codes though - where the OP sourced them from?

I ordered and recieved the latest 22" KDL553 for £169 (after discount) and the TV looked mint. Original box was resealed with a 'Refurbished' sticker, but the contents looked new. The only items that had a slight mark were the stand screws, everything else (remote, instructions, power cable etc....) was perfect. TV even had the Energy Consumption sticker still in the corner and plastic round the frame.

Cheers OP.........I want to get another one though, but need another discount code.

Now there is one Home theater which I am planning buy but ...no discount code...
Picked up a 26" a couple of weeks ago, superb quality picture. Just saw some new ones on there but codes no longer working as mentioned above. Wonder where OP got them from in first place?
