Same here - but I got the 6.5l one for £19.99 out of Argos when it was on offer and we have loads of mouths to feed in here! Its FAB and I haven't even used it for half the stuff I want to yet. Roast beef delicious!!

Not done a roast in it yet - been perfecting different stews, yummy. Ordered a slow cooker recipe book so once that arrives I shall be trying loads of stuff

There are plenty of good recipes online although a book is easier find one.

I've done big bits of silversde (while its been on offer I may add!) I just brown the joint in a frying pan to colour and seal it then put it in with onions, carrots etc and a bit of stock to come up to a third (so I could make gravy with it). You don't need much liquid as it doesn't lose any during cooking. Then leave it for 6 hours or so on low - which is only the price of a lightbulb. Leave it to rest for half hour or so when done as it just falls aparts when you try to cut too soon as its that tender. Yummy!

And yes get a good cookbook as smk77 says - I've got the Ultimate Slow Cooker Book by Sara Lewis which was from Amazon for about £5 but there's loads around.

Kaks that sounds heavenly, will have to give it a go :-)
