are they anygood?

Well, at least they aren't non-stick - that's one good thing you can say about them.. :>

nice find

there are a few other pan sets at half price too, just in case these are sold out. A nice Viners set for £25 too.

Why is them being not "non-stick" a good thing?!

I bought a similar series (5 piece) last year from Argos at £30. They are superb. Me and MOH are considering buying these too!!

Picked these up on Saturday and on 1st impressions they're a good buy.
A very solid set IMO.
The only gripe I have is the handles are not insulated and could get hot.

Good Deal, but It Seems Like No Stock In Lonodn Area.....
Or , Does Anyone Know Which Stock Has Them?

pros the handles are solidly attatched

cons the handles are not insulated so do get hot

My experience with these:

They don't usually get hot unless:

1) You put them in oven (once I was near to burn my hand!!). You'll lose the benfit of oven usage if you get insulated handles anyway!!

2) You use high heat to boil water, etc.

Otherwise the handles only get slightly warm as they heat disspiates before making the handle too hot.

I highly reccomend these!

The non-stick material (PTFE based) is toxic, especially to birds (Teflon toxicosis has killed quite a few parrots and cockatoos that are kept as pets).

Hexafluoropropene and difluoroacetic acid are released even at normal cooking temperatures (worse so if you accidentally burn your food).

Combined with the fact that they don't hold up very well (even modern ones), and need replacing far more than a steel, iron or copper pan.

And then there is the fact that PFOA used in the manufacturing process of the non-stick coating bioaccumulates causing untold damage (and the reason DuPont have been fined by the US government, and taken to court (and settled out of court) a few times)).

Plus non-stick coating isn't even needed, most foods cook fine without sticking to the pan if you heat them to the correct temperature first.

So many reasons against it, and not one decent reason for it.

I bought these literally a couple days ago for £50 lol Does Argos do the same policy as Amazon? (gives you back the difference?)

they have 16 day return police so take them back and re buy them

cant work out how you bought them for £50 though as they have been £24.99 since boxing day

Cheers OP, but unfortunately, I can't find any stock available locally!!

Been wanting to get rid of my non sticks pan for a few weeks, but haven't got round to it.

I managed to find one in Uxbridge, but it says 'can be ordered to collect'.

Hes right you know, correct cooking temps works a charm

10 year garuntee? does that mean if the handle falls off or something else its covered for 10 years?

If you paid with a credit card, check the card terms some cards will give you the differecne back. I know Barclaycard used to.

I dont belive these are any good - steel handles will get very hot and burn you if you are not carefull

Cooked our first Sunday dinner with these pans today and boy it was a awesome lunch all round thanks op everyone enjoyed the food... also much easier to wash up... Apparently :-D

not sold anymore?

Thanks for the tip-off edi.

Got the last one locally the other day and well pleased!

Just reserved these in birmingham thanks.....they didnt have any last week.....must of had stock come in.

Cheers voted hot.

Nad

Wow, my local store has them in stock!! Reserved to picked it up, thank you!!!

Although these are branded as Morphy Richards, they are actually manufactured by Argos. Consequently they WILL fall apart. I have the 8 piece copper bottom set which now no longer has copper bottoms as they have fallen off!
