I have a similar coffee machine that I use on the weekends, get it set up the night before, when I get up Sat / Sun I tell Alexa "Make me a coffee" and when I get downstairs I have a freshly brewed mug of coffee waiting. Its one of my favorite things to do with Alexa

It slows down the water draining through. So it spends longer with the coffee and extracts more.

Good find! Many reviews stating that if you want a strong coffee to use a paper filter also.

Good price and it makes good coffee. I got one as the cost of pods for Tassimo machine was getting excessive. This makes better coffee.
I use the travel mug but also a normal mug when I’m drinking it at home. The only issue is it can be messy to fill up with water as it spills easily. I just use a small jug for water top ups.
£20 well spent
I use this with my hive plug... Well not now I'm not commuting. It works great. I use a paper filter in the plastic one. Not only does that make a stronger coffee but also makes cleaning a breeze.

Hi Mate, which paper filters do you use please? If you can send me the link for them on Amazon it would be really appreciated
I just bought a pack in M&S.. I cut them down as they are too big

What exact coffee machine do you use to do this dude?

I do exactly the same using a Breville Coffee Express, I'm not sure you can get it anymore but it looks very similar to this one - just load it up the night before, remembering to switch the machine on (!) Then switch the smart plug on as I'm getting in the shower
£20 on eBay.

So an expensive thermos

Thanks, OP! Looks really useful!
Can anyone confirm that the coffee is 'hot', unlike Tassimo that comes out luke warm?

I want to know this too... wouldn’t doubling your filter let less coffee through?

I think it's cause it slows the filtration down so it effectively brews longer in the filter.... 😁

Cheers for this, I have ordered one. Has anyone seen any good deals on filter coffee?

Same. Theyve recently changed it though and don't like the new house blend/espresso; so now get the French blend from Lidl.
Sumatra gayo Highlands by grumpy mule. Very good coffee imo, but this is very personal.

Recently I tried the Costa Rican beans from Costco but felt like I was drinking ashtray. Not nice.

Ditto!
I regret buying this. Might try the extra filter suggestion.
anyone know if the travel mug is leak proof? Almost all mugs like this are (to me at least) worthless as they will leak if chucked in a bag. I don't want to have to hold my coffee all the way on my commute to work but i also don't want coffee all over the inside of my bag either...

I have a leak-proof Yeti cup which is brilliant, but it's a little over 14cm tall which might be too tall to use with this (from the details in one of the reviews anyway). Shame, as adding an extra step pouring from a mug into my travel cup would mean the benefit of this ready-to-go machine would be lost.
My breville express has just died, so this will be a great replacement!

Unfortunately not leak proof. I just pour mine into a leak proof when it's done.
This is super handy when it's connected to a smart plug.
Can I resist . Love my coffee. Should i add this to my collection like Sminky. I may well do so.

Just a word of warning ....I was drinking at least 15 + cups of coffee a day. All strong. I checked my ECG on one of those gadgets you can buy on Amazon and it said I had AF. After some hospital tests it turned out I actually had multiple additional beats...you know the feeling. Moral of the story is ...dont over do it on strong coffee.

Thanks. How tall a cup will fit in there? Would my Yeti (14.5 cmm tall, about 8cm diameter) fit do you think?

Still not sure I want to replace my Aeropress with this, but having a coffee ready to just screw on the lid and head out of the door would make my commute much nicer (when I actually start commuting again anyway!)

Kleen Kanteen are the best for non leakage and keeping things warm (or cold) if you buy the insulated versions.

They do a few different sizes.
