Couldn't agree more. Will never buy ceramic pot one again.
Worth their weight in gold. Heat added.
Beware this cannot be used on an Induction Hob, which is not made clear except in the Amazon reviews

Same here, excellent buy
Picked this up from Asda a few months ago for around £12. It's alright, except that "sear and stew" is not what it's capable of, but rather, the steps for cooking.

You sear the meat + cook the veg...then you put it in the slow cooker. Only ever used a cheap Lidl one before, but that one got hot enough to actually cook everything. This one doesn't seem to get hot enough.

Mine gets hot enough, makes amazing tender lamb chops and beef

Only used it once so far, but was a bit unimpressed. On high, within an hour and a half, it took an hour to start steaming the lid up. The Lidl one before would heat up in a few minutes.
The instructions say to heat the removable pan on the cooker with some oil, so maybe you're meant to pre-heat it first? We have a (terrible) induction hob, so can't do that.

Yes i always preheat, or sear the meat in little oil first and then put on the cooker. Takes 2 hrs to cook on high maybe a little more depending on the type of meat
I also had the value tesco one first but I prefer prefrying meat and usually make curries
