Been eyeing this baby up for a few weeks now and almost bought it yesterday for £60.00 elsewhere ( and was £90 on Amazon yesterday) .

I'm glad i waited as today Very has dropped the price again from £64.99 to £49.99.

This has all the added features including ability to saute, so no need to dirty another pot. It also has the brilliant serrator Blade, which was top of my requirements as it is not only sharper but much more durable and stays sharper for longer. Additionally it has a pause function, which allows you to add herbs and seasoning in the middle of the cycle without it starting all over again. To get these three features at this price is brillant (in my opinion).

Tasty homemade soup without the additives in as little as 20 minutes, whats not to like. Just be sure you have some liquid in the maker before adding ingredients as starches can cause staining when released.

The versatile Morphy Richards 501014 Soup Maker now features a sauté function.

With a 1.6-litre capacity and a powerful 1000 watt motor, you can make enough for up to 6 people and you can choose between the smooth and chunky settings to suit your recipe.

You can cook a delicious homemade soup in under 21 minutes, with the countdown timer letting you know exactly how is left before it's ready.

Add additional flavour to your soup by sautéing your onions/bacon pieces or vegetables in the same vessel that your soup is cooked in – and reduce the washing up too! You can even make croutons in your soup maker!

The Smooth programme blends and gently cooks soup in just 21 minutes, while the Chunky program cooks wholesome soup with a thicker consistency in 28 minutes. If your soup is a little too chunky for your liking, just press the Blend button until the texture of the soup is to your taste.

The handy pause function allows you to remove the lid part way through the cooking cycle, add herbs, spices or seasoning.

It can also be used as a normal blender, so you can get a huge range of use out of this versatile kitchen assistant, including making smoothies and milkshakes. A recipe book will give you plenty of ideas.

There's a press button control panel with LED display that's easy to control and the brushed stainless steel finish will look great on any kitchen worktop.

If you wish to add items like onion, garlic, ginger it's best to soften them first. Most soup makers don't have a saute function, meaning these items would have to be softened in a separate saucepan. For me spending an extra £12 compared to the 501016 ( red) model is worth it. I also like the pause function which many don't have. I have a slow cooker which allows to sear/brown off rather than using a separate pan and it's brilliantly convenient. The serrator blade is also highly recommended. This is the only model I can find with these 3 additional features so yes for me it's worth it. There's plenty of good
reviews on sites like amazon and best buy sites if you need a few more opinions

lol me too. Very few comments to support it. Have also asked if someone could please post link to where it's cheaper ( I would get that instead) There are lower priced models but don't have saute or pause function and only 2 models this and 454013 have serrator blade which is supposed to be the best blade and no longer included in newer models. There is a red 454015 / 16 can be got cheaper but no saute, pause or serrator blade. This may have been available lower but appears to have been for couple days in may 17 only. Was almost £90 on amazon at start of week. I'm still happy with price as it's the maximum I wanted to pay and the lowest in the 6-8 weeks I've been researching. Thankyou
Saute function worth having, it does make a difference to the flavour as well as softening the onion & garlic. Hot.
I have very account and this is showing at £64.99 reduced from £79.99

It seems to have gone back up again. It was this for about a week before I ordered. So glad I did at that price. I'll expire now. Thankyou for letting me know. I literally collected mine a couple of hours ago too.
