I get your point, but personally think it's not quite the same thing. I doubt soup makers will be selling as many in a few years, but time will tell. Everyone has a washing machine, and with good reason. For most people soup makers could well be a kitchen gadget that gets put in the cupboard after a while, never to see daylight again. I'm quite happy to be proved wrong, it's just my opinion

Yes, probably, just like the toastie makers and everything else we leave in our cupboards! . There are some benefits over making soup without one of these makers though, such as being able to leave it unattended, making large batches etc. Now, I'm off to find my Nutribullet..... I know it's somewhere in this cupboard!

Thanks. My last one conked out but do like this gadget. Use almost daily.

What!? This is a thing? If I bought this it would forevermore gather dust in a cupboard. Soup is so simple to make, minimal washing up plus I've always liked it chunky so rarely blend. whatever works for I suppose. does it chop the vegetables?

A lot of sarcastic replies in here - but I know plenty of people who have trouble boiling an egg.

This saves time in that you just put everything in and program it and it does everything, all you do is prepare the veg.

No extra chopping, no stirring or checking to see if it's cooked.

I've never actually made a soup, although in my slow cooker I have sometimes made a mush which could be called soup...
